January 9, 200718 yr Author Robbie Williams May Present Award To Take That Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter London, England (BANG) - All the members of Take That may finally come together again - even if it's just for a brief moment at an awards show. Robbie Williams has been reportedly asked by the organizers of the BRIT Awards to present a prize to his former group Take That. Bosses are reportedly desperate for the British singer to hand over a statuette to his former band mates, if they win one. A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "The organizers would love Robbie to be the one who hands over whatever award they win. He loves the BRITs and wants to be there in 2007. This would be a massive moment for the show." BRITs bosses are also hoping their plan might trigger a reunion between Robbie and the remaining members of Take That, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald. The group have not performed as a five-piece since Robbie left in 1995. The source added, "It would finally give the original line-up a chance to have the get-together that so many of their fans want to see. It's just a matter of getting Robbie to agree to it." Take That are being tipped to be nominated for several awards at the prestigious ceremony, including Best Pop Act. The group - who first shot to fame in 1991 - reformed in 2005, and last year released a new album "Beautiful World," which has so far shifted a staggering 1.3 million copies. The BRITs ceremony takes place at London's Earls Court on Valentine's Day, February 14. Among the acts confirmed to perform include Razorlight, the Scissor Sisters and Oasis who will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music award. http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7006035950
January 9, 200718 yr Author Just thought I'd post this here as well. I just found this article from late 2003 by Vicky Newton, she was ranting at how the Brits did'nt nominate Rob for best male for the 2004 awards. Wonder if she will do it again this year  According to the Brits spokeperson in this article Rob has had enough  Surely that just makes a mockery of the whole bloody thing, Here it is http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2003560998,00.html
January 10, 200718 yr Do we think take That will scoop the awards or not. I thought all of the talk would be about the Scissor Sisters album and single. If Rob isn't nominated for best album, best male and, in particular, best live act...I will be absolutely gutted. He deserves recognition after the amazing year he has had  .
January 10, 200718 yr If Robbie does'nt win something than the whole thing is a joke. Best Live act is what he deserves most. Also Best single, Best album and video. :smoke: i completely agree...if he doesnt win best live act then it will make the whole show look like a joke
January 13, 200718 yr http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tm_headline=ro...-name_page.html 13 January 2007 ROB'S A BRIT OF A LOSER Exclusive by Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley ROBBIE Williams's reign as the king of the Brits is well and truly over. He has been sensationally snubbed by the awards panel, receiving no nominations for his disastrous album Rudebox. The critically-panned CD, which was meant to signal his big comeback, was deemed so bad by the voting academy that for the first time in 10 years he is not a contender for Best British Male, Best British Album or Best Single. Instead, Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys and Razorlight are expected to dominate proceedings at this year's event at London's Earl's Court Arena on February 14. Even his arch enemies Oasis will get a gong for Outstanding Contribution to music. But all 32-year-old Robbie has is a conciliatory nomination in the Best Live Act category. A music biz insider says: "A few years ago Robbie not being nominated would have been unthinkable - he had the Midas touch. But that's clearly deserted him and he's going to have a real struggle on his hands to regain his credibility." The writing was on the wall for Robbie - who has a record haul of 15 Brits - last September when fans gave Rudebox the thumbs down. Despite a costly media blitz, the single only just scraped into the Top Five then sank without a trace and the album was beset by problems. Ex-manager Nigel Martin Smith threatened to sue for libel over the lyrics to The Nineties, which implied he'd ripped Robbie off - the offending words were later changed. Then Rod Stewart's stepson, Ashley Hamilton, accused Robbie of stealing a track they'd written together. When it was finally released it spent just one week at No.1 before slipping down the charts. It is now not even in the Top 40. Rudebox's poor sales are said to have been a contributing factor in the departure of EMI chairman and chief Alain Levy and his deputy David Munns, who were both axed yesterday. Another source reveals: "Rudebox has been an unmitigated disaster for Robbie and the record company. We knew things were bad but were hoping for at least one decent nomination from the Brits." Instead, it's his old bandmates Take That who are riding high. They topped the charts at Christmas and had one of last year's top selling albums. Maybe that full reunion is not such a bad idea after all, eh Rob? The full list of Brits nominations will be unveiled at a star-studded bash at London's Hammersmith Palais on Tuesday which will feature performances from The Fratellis, The Feeling and Lemar - all of which will be screened on ITV2 at 8pm.
January 13, 200718 yr So What !!! Rob is not nominated.......The brits are a joke imo. anyway -_- Last year was a good one for Rob with a fantastic tour to look back to
