It is shocking TT did'nt even mention him. Surely a little "get well soon" would'nt have been so bloody hard. Oh no, they say they love him etc, yet laugh at the fact he is in bloody rehab and don't even have the respect to wish he well. The word hypocrits comes to mind.

That's a bit harsh Scotty, shocking :o , these boys are not hypocrites, far from it, they are just enjoying the ride. Have you thought that maybe Robbie wouldn't want his illness broadcasting on a show seen by millions all over the world. Anna is right, if TT had mentioned him, they would have been slated and coz they didn't they are accused of snubbing Robbie . No one really knows what has transpired between TT and Robbie, rumour has it they have made their peace and I would like to believe that's true, time to move on , life is far too short,

I sincerely hope that Robbie conquers his addiction and makes a full recovery

Rob has been misinterpreted a million times about things he said or didn't say about TT and has been slagged off for it, so now they see what it's like. -_-

Ok I will leave it, but I really don't see how the press would've misinterpreted or made it into a bad thing if TT had've at least wished him well. Especially Mark Owen, who is meant to be a close friend of Rob's. It is no suprise the press are giving TT a hard time over it, cause it was expected by most people seemingly as it would've been the decent thing to do in a time like this. Wishing him well backstage, only when asked is not the same. I just think it would've been the right thing to do but that's just my opinion on the matter. ^_^

I am not anti-TT, I enjoyed their performance last night but felt It would've just been common decency to wish him well when they know he's going through a hard time especially as they claim how much they love and care about Rob.

Gary did say thanks to Rob backstage but would'nt it have made more sence during the speech?

"First of all there are so many people you need to thank (for Take That's popularity) but we're not going to do that. The real people to thank are each other because we've done this as a team.

"Then there's Robbie. We should thank him because I honestly think if it wasn't for him and for his huge success, there wouldn't still be the interest there for us that has put us back on the map. So cheers, Robbie, thanks a lot."

I didnt watch the show last night because the tv was turned off after the first slagging off .

I'm not a TT fan and agree that they should of said something about wishing Robbie well, but whats done is done.

It feels like a no win situation in whatever is said or not said. It just fuels all the newspaper stories and gets fans irate and upset.

Am just so fed up with all the c**p.

It's bad enough knowing that Robbie isn't well. :(

Oh and Scotty, I have to agree with Josh about Scissor Sisters...I just saw it on YouTube and they BLEW my mind!! I freaking LOVE them and they always come up with the most brilliant performances. They make me smile from ear to ear!!

From todays SUN

In an exclusive chat, Jason said: “We didn’t thank Robbie because it is about his private situation.

“It’s not for us to comment. He’s going through a personal problem and we wish him the best — we love him.â€

That's not a snub http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/images/smilies3/no.gif, it's respect and like I wrote earlier, Robbies problems shouldn't be broadcasted in front of millions of viewers. I dare say that they will have been in contact with Robbie, at least Mark will have, he/they will have wished him well already .

Thanks. ^_^

But to be fair, TT shouldn't really say anything, as I renember Robbie saying something at the brits 2 years ago something like, "Well I was the best member of the band" etc. ;)

Yes, I know they wish him well, however, saying it in their acceptence speach would've been more appropiot instead of the Sun. Anyway, there is not point in agueing over it. It's a matter of opinion. ^_^

That was a joke and I don't recall any of them being in rehab at the time ;)

:P

Why am I wrong?

Countless others feel the same, even loads of non Rob fans

Brit awards are like the grammys: not quality nor sales or votes decide who wins an award.. record companies need to pay for it and who gives the most gets the award.. so otherwise i cannot explain why he hasn't won it!

I'm kidding! There is no right or wrong, it's just opinions.

But I can see the point of view from TT too though--eventhough I slagged them for giggling at the announcers comment (which I still think was $h!tty). Knowing Robbie, he doesn't want a lot of fuss about it. And they know him a lot better than we do.

Yup I know that. :P I was only mucking about. -_-

I agree, I don't see how saying a few words and wishing Rob well could or would be misinterpreted. To say its a private matter is a lame excuse. Practically the whole world knows, its not like its some secret. People who don't know Rob at all or as well as they do wished him well. For people who claim to love him and care about him - only when its most convenient for them that is - they acted the complete opposite last night. Hypocrits is exactly the word to describe them. I'm just glad that the media is not overlooking this and not sweeping it under the carpet. Its inexcusable. But then they didn't give a damn when they kicked him to the curb or care when he went into rehab before so why should they now.

And its not about giving thanks to Rob. That's one of the things that I don't get at all. They didn't have to thank him but they had to wish him well. It happened the day before not a week or a month ago, they should have shown some compassion. Thanking Rob is NOT the same thing as wishing him well. And they only thanked him when asked and that's absolutely not the same and Barlow turned it around to himself in the end the selfish git that he is. He's thanking Rob for helping him and the other four cash in. But pay no mind that he's in a bad way now. Plain smug. They had a perfect forum to say something when accepting their award but they didn't and that speaks volumes. Nothing could be twisted around by saying get well, showing they care. But as Barlow thanked Rob for filling up his pockets just shows that's all they care about. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of them snickering upon hearing Rob went into rehab, or sitting there laughing at him being made fun of. Their behaviour last night is disgusting plain and simple.

Sorry to bring it up when you all are trying to move on but I had to get it off my chest.

Viewers complain over Brits jokes

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42576000/jpg/_42576469_brand_pa.jpg

Brand poked fun at Robbie Williams' stint in rehab

Brits host Russell Brand has triggered a flood of complaints with off-colour jokes about the Queen and the Iraq war.

ITV1 had received around 300 complaints by Thursday morning, while broadcasting watchdog Ofcom logged a further 135.

Ofcom said most of the calls concerned "the tone of the jokes made during the ceremony," which was shown live for the first time in 17 years.

Broadcaster ITV defended Brand, calling him "an edgy host for an edgy event," but apologised for any offence caused.

The presenter opened the show by poking fun at singer Robbie Williams, who is currently being treated in a rehab clinic for addiction to prescription drugs.

Swearing bleeped

Pointing at a padlock that formed part of the set, Brand said it was "Robbie Williams' medicine cabinet".

Several links included barely-disguised innuendos, including one referring to the Queen.

Announcing the international breakthrough artist award, Brand commented: "I think a good international breakthrough would be if the British and American soldiers tell each other where they are standing".

Brand was booed by some members of the audience following the joke, which referred to the "friendly fire" death of UK soldier Matty Hull in Iraq.

Full list of winners

ITV1 said that swearing was bleeped out before the watershed and the broadcaster said the complaints were about Brand rather than any bad language.

About 5.3m people watched the Brits on TV, beating last year's ratings of 4.6m viewers.

But Arsenal's FA Cup victory over Bolton was more popular, drawing 6.2m people to BBC One.

The Killers and Arctic Monkeys were the main winners of the night, each taking home two awards.

The Sheffield-based Monkeys won best British group and best British album, while Las Vegas rockers The Killers triumphed in the international group and album categories.

Take That's Patience won a viewer vote to claim the best single title. James Morrison and Amy Winehouse were named best British male and female respectively.

But Lily Allen, who had been nominated for four awards, went home empty-handed.
