So singles that where already on released albums didn't previously count?

Sort of, Most record companies thought if tunes like No Doubt's "Don't Speak", Fugees "Killing Me Softly" and Sugar Ray "Fly" were released as singles it might hurt sales of the albums the song were on.

So that's the reason even though the song had just enough airplay to hit #1, The record company thought it was a bad decision not to do it.

Wow, Cassie's older song is higher than her new one

Yes, this is reason. Follow up single not good enough.

It is! But people see it as a copy of 'Voodoo Child' and another sampled single. Which is the exact reason 'Way To Go!' should have been second with this third. 'Voodoo Child' and 'Watching You' both went top 5 in Australia so clearly they got it right there!

'Something about You' is the first single from UK's finest R&B star Jamelia's third album 'Walk With Me'. Jamelia describes the sound of the single as being more "experimental" than her other material as the track sees her moving away slightly from the R&B sound that she is known for. - HMV

Faster than her panties :D

I like this Jamelia song. "Beware Of The Dog" would've been a much much better promotion for her new album, though.

Ugh McFly. :puke:

Still like this Jamelia song though her followup is better. ^_^

Faster than her panties :D

Oh please -_-

LMAO Hoff  Serves him right the scab. ^_^

Aw, I still love this Jamelia song

I do as well actually. Nice to see her try something different from what she's known for. Commercially it might not have been a good idea though, as the music industry and the public like to pigeon-hole everything.

:o Aww i still think The Hoff single is great!!! :cheer:
Paolo Nutini should've done much better!

With what some call a meteoric rise to the top, 'Fallen' brought the Little Rock, Arkansas band Evanescence to global success. The album sold over 1.2 million in the UK alone and spawned two Top 10 singles ('My Immortal' and 'Bring Me To Life') the latter hit the No 1 spot and stayed there for 4 weeks. Now Evanescence return (minus guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody) with their forthcoming album 'The Open Door', and lead single 'Call Me When You're Sober'.
