January 8, 20187 yr 'Anywhere' is incredibly likely to make the year-end list for 2018 anyway, so it's not worth fussing over it just missing out this year due to when it was released.
January 8, 20187 yr In general I am actually all for big acts releasing new songs early in the year and keeping the YE charts in mind. Because these days it's impossible to release in November and reach top ten on YE (unless it's something very exceptional).
January 8, 20187 yr You DO see the difference with those positions yourself don't you? Anywhere's weekly sales haven't been astounding, that and 10 weeks in just weren't enough. lol I do see the difference. What I'm pointing out with all those examples is that it's getting harder to reach the YTD recently. Sorry had a similar chart run to Rockabye but made No. 10 while Rockabye only made 37. A song with the same chart run as Rockabye would probably not even have made Top 50 this year. I'm fussed about this because the Year End chart favoring Q1 songs so heavily as opposed to others isn't really reflecting what was most popular during the entire year.
January 8, 20187 yr Maybe I can't *calculate* singles sales any more, but I can extrapolate from ones I know. ;) I agree at around 420k for #100, but have #50 at more like 615-625k Yes, you're right - I forgot that around 70K sales for “Be The One” are from 2016. So 615K is nearer the mark!
