October 28, 200618 yr I don't think Newcastle are bad enough to be relegated but certainly Shepherd will soon be asking why the £30m he spent this summer has not transmitted itself to good results on the pitch and at this rate I would be surprised if Roeder lasts the season maybe even gone by New Year I would say unless results improve, a lot of Newcastle fans want Curbishley apparently Well no I don't think Newcastle will be releagted either. ^_^ But Freddie will want to know why he's invested £30m into a clube which has potentail but has not delivered as of yet. If the results carry on the same I wouldn't be suprised if Roeder got the sack before Christmans. If he did go though I reckon Freddie would try and get Sven as his replacement.

October 29, 200618 yr Sven isn't that bad sheesh. Okay he had a bump on the head at the World Cup, but watching England play then it was very Boro-esque like McClaren was already pulling the strings. And how many qualifiers did Sven lose, was it only the N. Ireland one? Beaten by a Ronaldinho fluke, and the curse of penalties in competition

Beaten by a Ronaldinho fluke, and the curse of penalties in competition Yeah we played well in the qualifiers but we played like $h!t in the major tournaments. But the thing with Sven was is that England had the best squad in what 40 years as all their best players were at their prime but Sven messed it all up for us with his tactics. :(

And how many qualifiers did Sven lose, was it only the N. Ireland one? Beaten by a Ronaldinho fluke, and the curse of penalties in competition Its his style of play It's like a return to the days of George Graham and Howard Wilkinson style of play wise, Sven is a tactical dinosaur, given the pool of talent he has at his disposal his results are the bare minimum of what should have been expected but his tedious style of football is what I dislike
October 29, 200618 yr tbh, it was more like McClaren doing the tactics, and Sven trying to field all the big celebrities
October 29, 200618 yr tbh, it was more like McClaren doing the tactics, and Sven trying to field all the big celebrities Well that was another Sven; he never had the guts to frop the big names. I dunno whether McLaren did the tactics or what but I seemed to think the team on the whole was based on the name on the back of the shirt rather than the way they played on the pitch.
October 29, 200618 yr So how much did they spend then?. 10m on Martins 5m on Duff 200k on Sibierski Bernard, Rossi - free They sold Boumsong, Chopra, Viana for cash. They also got Shearer and Elliott off the wage bill.

October 29, 200618 yr Well they've spent £30m over the past year anyhowz I think. ;) They haven't actually, they didn't buy anyone this January
October 29, 200618 yr They haven't actually, they didn't buy anyone this January past 18 months then ;)
October 29, 200618 yr I always include wages not just transfer fees, if you consider the wages martins and duff on etc it will exceed £30m ;)
October 29, 200618 yr Include compensation from Owen, the wages saved by losing Shearer (LOADS!) i don't think Obi Martins is on a cheap wage ;) or Duff. That will more than easily replace Shearer
October 30, 200618 yr Author Until Newcastle buy a half-decent defence they will always be in the bottom half.
October 30, 200618 yr Duff is claimed to be on 75k a week, he wanted that plus more to choose us instead of Newcastle
