The 12 competing songs for this year's Söngvakeppnin are:

Aron Hannes – Golddigger / Gold Digger

Áttan – Hér með þér / Here for You

Ari Ólafsson – Heim / Our Choice

Fókus hópurinn – Aldrei gefast upp / Battleline

Dagur Sigurðarson – Í stormi / Saviour

Stefanía Svavarsdóttir, Agnes Marinósdóttir & Regína Lilja Magnúsdóttir – Svaka stuð / Heart Attack

Þórunn Antonía – Ég mun skína / Shine

Guðmundur Þórarinsson – Litir / Colours

Þórir Geir Guðmundsson & Gyða Margrét Kristjánsdóttir – Brosa / With You

Tómas Helgi Wehmeier & Sólborg Guðbrandsdóttir – Ég og þú / Think It Through

Rakel Pálsdóttir – Óskin mín / My Wish

Heimilistónar – Kúst og fæjó

and they are all on a scale from average to shit! If I HAD to pick a favourite, it would probably be 'Battleline' but even that's a 5/10 mediocre attempt at pop rock. I know Iceland's had a tough time at Eurovision recently but I can't see how any of these will make it to the final.

That's disappointing to hear, I hope it's just your opinion... they've been missing the final with some solid entries so to go downwards from that level of quality seems odd.
I had a brief scan through and I agree, nothing here comes close to their last two entries so I also envisage a 4th consecutive DNQ. A shame, but this is a very disappointing selection.
Gold Digger is...passable at best and what I suspect will get the ticket from this crop but they best hope they don't get drawn in the same Semi as Mikolas Josef because then they'd get blown completely out of the water.

So qualifiers of the night..

Ari Ólafsson – Heim / Our Choice

Fókus hópurinn – Aldrei gefast upp / Battleline

Heimilistónar – Kúst og fæjó

Fókus hópurinn were great even if they were just a little bit cringey. Heimilistónar were super random and hilarious but the song is shit lol. Ari Ólafsson was the worst performance of the night imo so I fully expect him to be the top vote getter.

I've finally listened to all 12 songs in this, they're overall slightly better than I expected but true that there's no obvious qualifier to the Eurovision final amongst this lot.

Gold Digger is pretty good in a 7/10 sort of way though his 2017 entry was better.

I really like the songs by Fókus hópurinn and Heimilistónar, so I'm glad to see they've both gone further. Also like Rakel Pálsdóttir's song.

Didn't care for the other eight much.

I'm hoping we send out Aron Hannes if we expect to qualify for the first time in 4 years lol. Fókus Group and Dagur are also contenders but I'd say their chances of qualifying in the actual contest are slim (especially for Fókus). Everyone else remaining is average at best.

Áttan's performance was SO bad, it's so funny that all their 10 year old fans still voted them through. Can't wait for the juries to all put them dead-last come March 3rd <3 Nice kids and all but I'm not here for a 2/10 performance in Lisbon.

For anyone curious this is all the acts who qualified for the final:

Aron Hannes – Golddigger / Gold Digger

Áttan – Hér með þér / Here for You

Ari Ólafsson – Heim / Our Choice

Fókus hópurinn – Aldrei gefast upp / Battleline

Dagur Sigurðarson – Í stormi / Saviour

Heimilistónar – Kúst og fæjó

Aldrei gefasst upp looks and sounds like the only good song here so hopefully they will win~

Gonna go out on a limb and try to predict the results prior to the final. I will most definitely be way off at some parts (mostly Heimilistónar and Fokus Group could surprise me) but for the most part I think I'll be close to the actual results.

RESULTS

06. Ari Ólafsson - "Our Choice" (Jury 4th, Televote 6th)

05. Heimilistónar - "Kúst & Fæjó" (Jury 5th, Televote 5th)

04. Fókus Group - "Battleline" (Jury 3rd, Televote 5th)

03. Áttan - "Here With You" (Jury 6th, Televote 1st)

02. Aron Hannes - "Golddigger" (Jury 2nd, Televote 3rd)

01. Dagur Sigurðsson - "Saviour" (Jury 1st, Televote 2nd)

SUPERFINAL

02. Dagur Sigurðsson - "Saviour" (42%)

01. Aron Hannes - "Golddigger" (58%)

If there's a wildcard things will obviously shift but not by much. The only song I can imagine being added is Thorunn Antonia but that'll still just end up 6th or 7th in the final if that happens.

Iceland, I know you've been done dirty the past few years, but we don't deserve this.
