February 19, 20187 yr For those of you who have taken the life lengthening decision to give the Portuguese NF a miss but are still interested in whether Portugal can "do an Austria" and come last on home turf, this won the first semi final tonight quite convincingly, coming 2nd with the jury and winning the televote. The jury winner was largely ignored by the public and the juries weren't keen on the second placed televote song. SEtk3ojfT98
February 28, 20187 yr I'd have liked to have seen a Salvador & sister duet (or sister on her own) for Portugal this year to celebrate them hosting, much like when Germany won and hosted.
February 28, 20187 yr I'm glad Piçarra bowed out, his song was a bit nothingy and it would've sucked in all the votes as he is massive in Portugal. Cláudia Pascoal's "O Jardim" is absolutely stunning so I'm crossing everything in hopes she wins now.

March 4, 20187 yr TONIGHT'S NATIONAL FINAL... PORTUGAL Festival da Canção 4th March 2018 Begins at 9pm in the UK and Portugal. The show is scheduled to last 4 hours. Watch the selection via the official RTP webcast. Running order Voting format The winner will be decided by 50% jury voting and 50% televoting. The favourites to win The names being tipped as potential winners that I've seen include Cláudia Pascoal and Peu Madureira.
March 4, 20187 yr I'll be watching, depending on what time my 'good' neighbour leaves my house tonight, but as long as I catch Cláudia's performance and the results I'll be good :)

March 5, 20187 yr I'm over the moon. It's not a crowd pleaser but it's absolutely stunning and beautifully produced and performed, I'm very proud of it. It's my personal favourite entry for this year - so far.
March 5, 20187 yr Ooh, this is good! It really stands out as different just like Salvador did last year.
March 5, 20187 yr I quite like that, her voice is so stunning which really carries it  Oh definitely! It's like they've followed their own lead from last year really with the individuality and power of the vocalist.
March 5, 20187 yr Really lovely, hope it gets them another good finish. Amazing what one good result can do to a country’s ability to take the competition more seriously (see also Netherlands and Bulgaria in recent years).
March 5, 20187 yr This is by far Portugal's most modern entry ever, really really surprised! Gives me London Grammar vibes, something I think will be even more pronounced once I hear a studio version and the production is clearer.
March 9, 20187 yr Finding this entry really quite mesmerizing; they're definitely on form! I'd love to see this come top 10.
