In a couple of hours, we'll know which countries are in which semi finals for this year's contest. 19 countries will go into Semi Final 1 and 18 to Semi Final 2. The Big 5 and Portugal will also be assigned semi finals which they must broadcast and vote in. All the semi finalists have been placed into pre-determined pots to try and eliminate so called 'neighbour voting' and to ensure a fairer playing field.

Pot 1: Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland
Pot 2: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden
Pot 3: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine
Pot 4: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Moldova, Romania
Pot 5: Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Israel, Malta, San Marino
Pot 6: Belgium, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland

You can watch the ceremony live on
at 1pm CET today (noon in the UK).

And to save shameless self promo, here's an fab article looking back on the history of the allocation draw.

Thank you for the promo! *.*

Statistically semi 2 is much stronger, but I feel like lots of the promising national final entries/internal selections are all in semi 1! Interesting indeed.

Nah. Surely they'll pull out again

Ha
