Posted October 24, 200618 yr i opened this thread for a discussion on impossible princess what do u think should hav been done different with the album to hav emade it more successfull, also why did it not do as good as her other albums? I know the death of princess diana lead to the title been changed but leaving that factor out, what do u think should have been done, what single should have been first, why promo should have been done, also why do u think there was no tv promotion for the album? PLEASE DISCUSS
October 24, 200618 yr The biggest prob for me was the first single. Not a good choice at all. There are better songs on the album than the ones that were released
October 24, 200618 yr Author although i do like and always did like some kind of bliss it wasnt the best choice for the first single as it didnt reflect the overall sound of the album at all. also does anyone know impossible princess first week sales?
October 24, 200618 yr It simply didn't do well because at the time she wasn't regarded as cool from the younger buying public and the older fans did not take "indie" kylie with her desperate credibility seriously. HOWEVER - As the years pass the album (the whole project) starts to get appreciation. Kind of "without suffering there could be no compassion". As time goes by people seem to appreciate it more then it gets the label of "hidden gem". Its gives her credibility NOW and shows her versitile tastes as an artist. It really wasn't Kylie's time I think. If you look at the music that was dominating the charts at the time, Kylie lost her place
October 24, 200618 yr Author YA SHE DIDNT FIT INTO ANY MARKET AT THAT time and wasnt getting airplay that much either and in a way everything just seemed to ggo wrong that could go wrong for the album
October 25, 200618 yr Author ya thats true its just a pity lets get to it missed th etop 10 it was her only studio album to miss the top 10. when hits plus was released did you think it would have done better or worse than its number 41 peak?
October 25, 200618 yr i actually thought it would do worse becuase there was zero promo. It was just really a fan album i think. shame it didnt get top 40 though Edited October 25, 200618 yr by Dannyboy
October 25, 200618 yr Author ya and i did hear at the time that kylie didnt want that released. some other info i would love to know but probably never will,i wonder how much did her remixes album sell in the uk and also i would love to know sles of intimate and live cd,i know they were imports but i would lik eto know them aswell, likewise with albums like confide in me
October 25, 200618 yr I actually love the hits+ album. I dont think anyone has the sales of this and the oters but it would be interesting to find out
October 25, 200618 yr Author ya and to find out which sold the most overall, hits plus is ok but i dont listen to it that much to be honest
October 26, 200618 yr Author impossible princess was an album that took time and pateince really but once given it a cgance it really is a good album, its different and very different but i would listen to it anyday before kylie 94 and i listen to it more than body language also
October 26, 200618 yr I think the single choices for it were fine, it's just not commercial material and also not what the fans of Kylie's previous work would go for. Of course I like this album as I embrace all types of music and it was great to see her do something different and experimental. She took a risk and it may not have done well for her, but it won her a lot of critical acclaim and new found credibility, and shows off what a real ARTIST she is.
October 26, 200618 yr Author TRUE AMD I reakkly do think kylie wouldnt be the kylie she is today without doing that album
October 27, 200618 yr exactly. without that album doing so bad we prob wouldnt hav the kylie we hav now.
