I've just signed up to Audible.co.uk to see if I can get into audio books. Does anyone else use them (or other audio book sites)?

From what I can understand, you get one audio book a month for £7.99 but can buy extra at a discounted price if you'd like more than one a month.

I'm a huge fan of podcasts and would rather listen to things like this than music lately. I love to read too, but I'm a slow reader. I will still read my kindle at the same time but struggle to read two books at a time so made sense to see what audio books were like :)

Just seen this thread Laura!

I am a subscriber to Audible, but I often have a change of heart and stop subscribing for a while then resubscribe. I find my usage is sporadic at best but it’s not a very active subscription if I’m honest. I only use it to listen to personal development audiobooks or books on human psychology etc. I should make more time to listen actually, so thank you for this prompt! :)

I've just finished listening to The Stand by Stephen King. I have the book and have tried so so many times to sit through it and read it, but at over 1300 pages long, I found it really difficult to get in to. Stuck with the audio book though, 47 hours long, and now hopefully I may be able to find myself actually reading the book too. Its a great story. Thats one of the reasons I got Audible, so I could listen to the books that I want to read, but struggle to get stuck into :)

I've got The Woman in Black next on my list, its only 4 hours long and I've read the book years ago so I know I'll enjoy it.

Overall I'm glad I got Audible, it keeps me company on night shifts at work ^_^
