June 7, 20187 yr Author Probably gonna get some gasps for one particular cut in this next batch.. Xd4vRC5ZdLI --------------------------- coFfFZvPmRY --------------------------- a-nbF9dxbJ0 --------------------------- RcbefpUPuLA --------------------------- idUxTqmCFR0
June 7, 20187 yr I kinda like the Andorran entry there but to suggest it would fit on a blink-182 album is insulting to my favourite band of all time! Try Green Day :P (who I also like, but I do get the comparison really!)
June 7, 20187 yr Idk which is meant to be the shock :kink: Naviband maybe but I'm not mad at that, it was so annoying and twee.

June 7, 20187 yr Hahaha yeah, maybe I'm being influenced by r/eurovision because if I eliminated Naviband that early there I'd probably get lynched. AH yeah thought so, the fanbase (or what I follow of it) still go on about it and it's just awful and shouty and chanty. It was fairly liked on here but I'm certainly with you on that one!
June 7, 20187 yr LYNCHING TIME. But before that... Terasbatoni is the one I was talking about a few pages back when I said I was really surprised you hadn't eliminated it yet, I love it of course but I thought those shouty vocals would put it right next to AWS for you. Anonymous is about the best Andorra ever did. And overall, my god that's a good section. You're wrong :P My favourite from 2016, I was so stoked that Cyprus brought light metal back after a near complete absence in the last few years, Somebody Told Me similarities or no, it's a really pumping tune, much more so than even that rather good Killers track. And my second-favourite from 2017, Naviband is one of the cutest Eurovision entries I've ever come across, rousing and very worthy of being the best song in nearly any year that didn't also have My Friend and I think unfortunately people are actually more towards your line of thinking. In that I think it should be basically as adored as The Common Linnets are and that it isn't pains me. "Skeletons" zero identity?? If anything that's had the most identity of any Azerbaijani entry!! I disagree. I felt no feeling from it and it was very 'there'. I can see it was trying for an identity but that didn't come through in the way even the likes of Start A Fire did.

I just hope you will at least like some of the songs in my Top 100
June 7, 20187 yr I'm sure you'll have a good few I like in the top end, I think it was always going to be the case that songs I like would be scattered all over your ranking. My general taste matchup with most Eurovision people is that while my ultimate faves are often controversial, the rest of my top lot is very often what everyone else's is. Take 2016, while Alter Ego is my favourite, it's followed fairly closely by 1944, If Love Was A Crime, Hear Them Calling and Utopian Land. With Loin D'Ici, Midnight Gold, Pioneer, LoveWave and You Are The Only One filling the rest out. Like, I'd be surprised if NONE of those were in your top 100, even if it's only a couple of them. Don't worry, I think we'll agree on more than you expect.
June 8, 20187 yr Author I probably won't post anything tomorrow or sunday (maybe sunday night) so enjoy this last batch before the weekend <3 Q5HAilNn4fs ------------------------------- UGOSZ7Uufno ------------------------------- vE-LqXkb0ok ------------------------------- 058Yyhxsi7o ------------------------------- vrzC1oGWX_I
June 8, 20187 yr So is this based solely on the live performances rather than studio versions as well? "Don't Come Easy" studio version is great - as is the 7th Heaven Remix, which I actually felt would've been the better version for them to enter. But I totally agree, the live performances still haunt me - when I was in Australia a few months ago we kept playing THAT bit from the semi final; it's just so funny (bless him). Painful. A shame.

Oh no not solely based on anything. This is based on a mixture of things ranging from live performances, studio versions, staging, potential, overall impact on me and how I feel about them today, and many other factors. I loved the studio version of DCE (and still kind of like it though I grew tired of it quickly) BUT because the live version was so horrendous I cannot in good faith put it any higher than this lmao. But no live performances are not everything here and you'll see songs with not-so-great live performances high up as well. Edited June 8, 20187 yr by cantthinkofaname
June 8, 20187 yr Don't Come Easy is awful in studio and live form, by absolute miles the worst Australian entry. Ha Um Mar Que Nos Separa sums up Portugal as a eurovision country tbh, it *could* almost be there as you said but after all that it just flounders in the end and the whole package is pretty nothingy.
July 30, 20186 yr Author Actually been thinking about reviving this recently. I still have all the data and very much intend to finish this so it's just a matter of when I have the time to do so! Happy to hear you enjoy it!
July 31, 20186 yr I'm also looking forward to the return of this! Love the effort and work that goes into making such a thread and can't wait for it to continue.
