Excited to hear it!! I wonder if the promo plan will revolve around the new single, a medley of classics, or performing the likes of Pray remastered.

They’ve just confirmed to be performing on the Royal Variety!

With the style of the album based on Pray, the new single is sure to be a ballad.

I hope, it has a classic ballad Take That sound to it.

So far, Everything Changes is the only one I dislike.

Love Ain't Here sounds really good.

Thoughts on the first play of Out of Our Heads?

Very different style and sound from them. Very 30s esc

Unexpected sound, wouldn't have ever expected them to go down the swing/big band route. Super catchy track though, sounds like it should be the theme tune to a TV show or something.
Out of our heads is....exactly as advertised :D I was expecting a ballad, but this is sooooooo much fun and it's so catchy and retro and modern at the same time. If this does nothing on the charts, then people have no taste at all.

I quite like it! Definitely a Strictly performance incoming.

Why would they release this on a Thursday though? First day sales will be completely wiped off after today.

That's what I'm wondering too. So many sales wasted :( The song is no 9 on iTunes - these sales would have been more useful tomorrow.

I guess it’s probably unlikely that it’ll make top 40 now?
Actually, they formed in 1989, so, by 2019, when they tour, there will be 30 years since they started.

Hmm, I can't find any evidence for formation in 1989? Everything I've come across points to 1990:

From what I've read, it was New Kids on the Block's success that inspired Nigel Martin-Smith into deciding he wanted to start a boy band (their first #1 hit in the UK was achieved in November 1989).

Gary's autobiography suggests that he didn't meet Nigel until after his nineteenth birthday (he turned 19 on 20th January 1990). Gary makes reference to Madonna's Vogue playing at the club where the auditions took place, a song which wasn't released until March 1990 and became a #1 hit in April. Gary states that directly after the group formed and signed a contract, that "Robbie [went back] to school to finish his O-Levels", which he would have taken in May/June 1990. So to me, this is pointing towards Take That coming together around March/April 1990.

Their 2005 official documentary begins "In 1990," ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoR-SPdMOyo

Robbie's Greatest Hits album from 2010 makes reference to the start of his career being in 1990: "In and Out of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990–2010".

Maybe I seem pedantic, but for me an anniversary is a fixed thing i.e. a specific number of years since something occurred. 30 years for them is 2020. Therefore they're somewhat premature to be celebrating in 2018/19! Oh well, it's happening, so whatever. :') I do think you're wrong about them forming in 1989 though.

I guess it’s probably unlikely that it’ll make top 40 now?

It won't make the Top 100 either, at least not this week. It's #98 in the Monday midweeks, with 1,806 sales so far (1,082 downloads, 724 streaming units). To make it to #100 in Friday's chart they would need to sell at least 5,500 copies - but I estimate that they're unlikely to sell much more than 3,100 this week. (I predict a split of 1,400 downloads & 1,700 streaming units). A Top 40 position would require ~15,000 sales.

By the way, last week it achieved a sales-only chart position #59, based on just 1 day on sale. It sold approximately 835 downloads to achieve that position.

I'm totally disappointed with the song, they have for me, completely lost their direction and lost what many of their fans love from them. Usually i rush out and buy a new take that album asap on release day but this time I can't see myself buying it until it drops in price. As many of you know I was part of the take that forum for a long time and have always positively posted about their music but everything of this new release feels awful for me and I'm so disappointed by it.
I'm not keen on the new song either tbh, and based on Pray I'm a little worried that I won't end up liking the re-recordings! Although of course that's just one song, I'm hoping that I'll enjoy other new versions. I pre-ordered the signed £29.99 edition when they went up, so I certainly hope I like some of the songs given that expenditure lol.

Gary has talked about TT forming in 1989 in several interviews and in My Take. There's no doubt about that.
