February 26, 20187 yr Early reports suggests the first verse of the song is Neptunes-inspired R&B, before going full-on into a Flip & Fill trance banger for the chorus, followed by a 2-step garage breakdown and then an indie jam for the end with Pete Docherty on guitar. Scooter also rumoured to be doing some additional vocals. How does that even work
April 17, 20187 yr I suppose she now has a fairly solid platform to launch the album from now! They've had to put in a lot of extra work when they could have just simply released it after 'Ciao Adios' a year ago. Edited April 17, 20187 yr by Tawdry Hepburn
April 18, 20187 yr How do we actually expect this album to perform? With how low sales are it should debut within the top three? I'm expecting over 15,000 sales especially with the amount of hits on the album and her name alone but I'm not sure if it will hang around long.
April 18, 20187 yr I just can't imagine many rushing out to buy an Anne-Marie album. Or prioritising it for streaming. I might be very wrong though. What did Dua Lipa do in her first week? I'd imagine Anne-Marie will do about 30% less than that in week 1.
April 18, 20187 yr Author Dua wasn’t that big when she dropped the album. She was in a similar position to AM. New Rules happened after the album. I think Dua did 17k? I’ll say 13k I think I’ll buy the album in hmv on Friday. Packed with hits to say the least!
April 19, 20187 yr Anne-Marie has a much better launchpad than Dua or Zara had - they released Lost in Your Light and So Good to launch their albums! Anne-Marie still has FRIENDS going around as well as the fact that and Ciao Adios are both bigger than anything from Dua's album was when it came out. I would hope she could sell approaching 20k, and I think she has more of a fanbase than you'd expect!
April 19, 20187 yr I'd say 15k first week but also depends on that ed sheeran song, if it's a wow song like best song ever, it could definitely help
April 19, 20187 yr Yeah, it's a song about 2002 nostalgia but among many others, she references "99 Problems", which wasn't released until 2003. I sure hope someone was fired for that blunder.

April 19, 20187 yr The Jay-Z song? That wasn't released until 2004. The album it's on was released in 2003 ;)
April 19, 20187 yr I'm not the best judge but it seemed alright. I imagine mileage would vary on whether or not a chorus constructed largely from early 2000(ish) hit songs sounds clunky or not.
April 19, 20187 yr God someone LOCK HER UP immediately for such crimes....... She posted a clip I heard which was very Ed Sheeran :drama:
April 19, 20187 yr It’s actually quite good, wayyy better than Then or Heavy! It’s more Ed Sheeran than half of Ed Sheeran’s album but it works really well for her The chorus is a bit... “why” ... but I like it
