2. "Picking Up the Pieces" - 9.3966 (Max: 11 - dandy*, Cameron, HarryEzra, Chapman, Jonjo, Theo. / Min: 6 - SGrey; 7 - lewistgreen, Tawdry Hepburn, Nick F1)

UK chart peak: #7

Finishing in second place is my personal favourite Paloma single, "Picking Up the Pieces". Thematically, it isn't too dissimilar to some of the previous tracks that have dropped out but this stands out for me as the most emotional that Paloma has ever been. The final chorus in particular, complete with ad libs, is just stunning and it gets me every single time that I listen to it. It was released as the lead single from Paloma's sophomore album, 'Fall to Grace', and was her biggest hit to-date, far outpeaking and outselling all of the singles released from her debut album. It would of course go on to be outpeaked and outsold by "Changing" and only one other song...

UK chart peak: #6

So #1 in our rate, Buzzjack's favourite Paloma Faith single is "Only Love Can Hurt Like This". One of the only songs in her discography which she doesn't receive a writing credit for, you don't seem to care as every single voter gave this a score of at least 8.0! The song is a 60s/Motown inspired ballad, again telling of heartbreak, and Paloma really kills the delivery on this. Once again, the final chorus is a true highlight of just how powerfully she can sell a song and her performance of this at the

is probably one of my favourite performances of all time. It went on to be Paloma's third UK top ten single, outpeaking its predecessor and going Platinum in the process. It also became her first and only #1 single in Australia, although she hasn't had a single chart there since.

Wow, a clear winner there though I would've been happy with either one. OLCHLT was so much fun to watch in the charts, did amazing for a post-album single in a year that was so dominated with front-loaded held-back releases. The song is absolutely stunning too of course.

Thanks for hosting! :D

Guilty going top five in hindsight is actually a massive shock! I thought Crybaby was well received here more so.
Thanks Theo - in all honesty there was a whole host of songs I'd have been happy at number 1. She's just so good.
