Sigala & Paloma Faith - Lullaby, really would welcome this moving into the top 20.

I would also welcome Paloma gaining album sales from its release too.

Hello,

Maybe I'm being slightly dumb, but does anyone know why Jhope - Hope World isn't charting anywhere on the updates? It does only have iTunes to chart, but it's been on the albums chart for a while?

I guess it must be ineligible for some reason? Good point, I hadn't noticed that, I was wondering whether it might manage to chart in the top 10 after the last BTS release nearly did so.

That’s what I was wondering, too. I always thought it had to be like over £3.75 but maybe I’m wrong!

Yeah there is a rule along those lines but it's not based on the retail price.

Ah, okay. I didn’t think of it in that sense. It might be that! I was just curious is all.

Isnt it a mixtape as opposed to a proper album?

Not sure how the occ treats mixtapes?

The same as albums. There's not always a clear way to distinguish.

It is a mixtape. I had a quick look through the OCC album rules, and I couldn’t see anything about mixtapes on there.

thought the rule was

either >25min or >4 songs

but talking from memory so not 100% sure

It goes by the length, as I remember Avicii's EP not charting because it has 6 songs but amounts to less than 25 minutes. A similar case was Coldplay's Kaleidoscope - which was unfortunately 24 minutes and 57 seconds

They could have easily just added 3 seconds of silence to the end of one of the songs

There have definitely been other sub 25 minute albums that charted though. XXXTENTACION's '17' comes to mind, that's only 22 minutes.

That one is 11 tracks long so maybe sub-25 minute albums are allowed if they have a certain number of tracks?

just checked the occ site and its min 25 min OR 4 tracks

then maybe the problem is the price then? or the fact that its a mixtape?

There's no real distinction between 'album' and 'mixtape' these days, mixtapes used to generally be free downloads but a lot of them are now 'commercial mixtapes' i.e. available on iTunes etc. I think it's basically just a marketing term for 'an album that we didn't put enough effort into to call it an album' I guess it is something to do with the 'dealer price' (whatever that refers to when we're talking about digital downloads), either that or the album just isn't registered with the OCC's database for whatever reason.
