October 26, 20186 yr Authoritarianism (the word you are looking for to describe how Putin behaves, he is almost exclusively authoritarian, left vs right be damned) is not exclusive to socialism Fair point and it is a trait that many modern western social democrats would rather leave out. Whereas the right across the world are currently delighting in adding sprinkles and heapings of authoritarianism to their policies. OTOH, some of them could do with a little more of it. ;)
October 26, 20186 yr Wrong. You got brainwashed by a right wing conspiracy theorist video on reddit. Just admit it and we can move on from this, WTF?, momentÂ
October 26, 20186 yr Um. What? That has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH SOCIALISM. LIKE. AT ALL??? In fact, voter suppression comes from rich capitalist oligarchs like the Tories and Repukes. Not from democratic socialists. But I'm not talking about *Democratic* socialists, but of ones like the regime in Venezuela, for example.  And before you say 'they were democratically elected', don't forget so was Hitler...
October 26, 20186 yr But I'm not talking about *Democratic* socialists, but of ones like the regime in Venezuela, for example.  And before you say 'they were democratically elected', don't forget so was Hitler... It has NOTHONG. TO. DO. WITH. SOCIALISM. Why aren't you talking aboot the authoritarianism of the Tories and Republicans and their election cheating/ voter suppression methods/ Tory control of the media?Â
October 26, 20186 yr It has NOTHONG. TO. DO. WITH. SOCIALISM. What's it like there in Denial Land...?
October 26, 20186 yr You are brainwashed. Seriously.  I repeat. It. Has. Nothing. To. Do. With. Socialism. Stop trying to throw mud based on ridiculous conspiracy-ridden right wing reddit videos.
October 26, 20186 yr You are brainwashed. Seriously.  I repeat. It. Has. Nothing. To. Do. With. Socialism. Stop trying to throw mud based on ridiculous conspiracy-ridden right wing reddit videos. I haven't even *seen* the video in question, so I can *hardly* have been brainwashed by it!
October 26, 20186 yr The right wing are like parrots. One starts a conspiracy or wild, faaaar out there delusion, such as socialism being authoritarianism, and videos and articles spring up all over the place. So you'll have seen the same content somewhere - daily mail, 4chan, reddit, etx

One starts a conspiracy or wild, faaaar out there delusion, such as socialism being authoritarianism, and videos and articles spring up all over the place. So you'll have seen the same content somewhere - daily mail, 4chan, reddit, etx Socialism is authoritarian by its very nature - seizing control of means of production/distribution cannot be done any other way - private owners will resist...
October 27, 20186 yr So capitalism must also be inherently violent. You are talking about fin de siecle, just like the change from feudalism to capitalism, although capitalism is just feudalism rebranded.Â
October 27, 20186 yr Socialism is authoritarian by its very nature - seizing control of means of production/distribution cannot be done any other way - private owners will resist... By the same logic, pure capitalism is authoritarian by nature. Give employers unfettered freedom to do what they like and the workers will resist.
October 27, 20186 yr By the same logic, pure capitalism is authoritarian by nature. Give employers unfettered freedom to do what they like and the workers will resist. But at least in a democracy you can voted against them.
October 27, 20186 yr But at least in a democracy you can voted against them.  Yes. Same as in a democracy with socialism. At least with socialism you don't have rich billionaire plutocrats buying elections, saying people don't deserve power, that they never vote because money is power, and buy the media execs and papers. Just sayin. Can there even be true democracy with unfettered capitalism? I don't think so.

Just sayin. Can there even be true democracy with unfettered capitalism? I don't think so. I was thinking of the kind socialism where they might initially be voted in, but decide to ignore later elections that go against them...
