Listen (from Dreamgirls) (Hidden Track)

Gettin' Bodied Extended Mix (Hidden Track)

1. Deja Vu: The opening track of the long awaited comeback album. IMO although it is a second rate 'Crazy In Love' with pointless raps, it's done the job of showing 'Beyonces Back.' Howeer, Beyonce vocals arent shown off very well, which inevitably leaves her shouting pointlessly towards the end of the song. 5/10

2. Get Me Bodied: IMO The worst song on the album. It sounds like a cast off from Amerie's last album. Beyonces vocals just doesnt go well with the backing track, and begins to irritate like salt on an open wound very quickly. Try and see if you can last a minuite with this song without wanting to turn it off. 2/10

3. Suga Mama: A throwback soul vibe rather reminiscent of 'Work It Out.' She happily compares herself to Jolly Ranchers. The first song on the album that doesnt try to be something it's not, and although not the best track, her vocals stay within the limits of the song and she doesn't overdue it. Nice. 7/10

4. Upgrade U: Once again another pointless collaboration with Jay-Z. not as bad as Deja-Vu, not as good as Crazy In Love. Beyonce finally begins to live up to her reputation as one of R&B's finest. Even contains some clever lyrics. Ooh. 7/10

5. Ring The Alarm: Now this is where the album gets good. A Siren opens the song while Beyonce shouts at the top of her voice, so fiere she'd probably scar the devil. A great song to get angry and shout along to, should have been the first single, the best way to make a comeback, screaming over a war siren ^_^ 9/10

6. Kitty Kat: Just when the album begins to get good, she falls back into predictable R&B territory with this bland meh-fest in which she spends half the song moaning. Not exactly terrible, but not something thats gonna wow you. Wouldn't sound out of place on her first album. Thats not a compliment. 5/10

7. Freakum Dress: OMG Beyonces made a new word lets add it to the dictionary next to Bootylicious :| . Finally, uptempo is done well on this album, with a good beat, a catchy chorus and inevitably what Deja Vu would have sounded like if it wasnt desperately trying to be Crazy In Love. Hawt. 8/10

8. Green Light: Hmm Im sure that Amerie is singing this, it sounds exactly like her in places, me thinks Beyonce is thieving! That said, good enough and you'll probably like it. Just like the majority of the album though, you'll be forgetting how it sounded 10 minutes later. 7/10

9. Irreplaceable: The STANDOUT song of the album by far. Talks about Beyonce kicking her man out and telling him that he aint special. Finally, Beyonce finds a great balance on her vocals giving her the ability to show off what we know she can do, lyrics which many people can relate to, and wouldnt be out of place on A Destiny's Child album. The standout song of the album, and it shows why we should never lose faith in Beyonce. A diamond in a sea of bronze. 11/10

10. Resentment: Goes along the same lines as the track before it. While not as good, it is a great mid-tempo track, and Beyonce's creshendo-ing shrill now and again works a treat. Another throwback to some old skool R&B. 8/10

11. Check On It: Repetative beat with pointless rap, but catchy and drills itself into your head. Not a bad song either. Not one of her best, but shows that she's got what it takes to keep up with the latest flock of R&b females. 7/10

12. Encore For The Fans: Just an interlude, talks about her movie. Me me me. Good description of the song and prepares you for the next chapter of B'Day 5/10

13. Listen: Wow, all I can say. The song which is used in the pivitol moment of her latest movie 'Dreamgirls.' Great lyrics which relate to everybody, and are really uplifting. It also contains some of the best vocals Beyonce has ever recorded. Purely sublime. 10/10

14. Get Me Bodied (Remix): After the amazing Listen, they finish the album with this. Pointless remix and a horrible way to finish the album. 2/10

Result: So it's not as bad an albumas many of us expected. Attimes we get moments of just how good Beyonce can be, wether it be on a power ballad, mid-tempo R&B, or a perfect '**** you' song. however, there are more fillers than there are good tracks, and unfortunately sometimes the good songs get lost in them. Its not that the songs are bad (for the most part) its the fact there all round about the same. At times you can really feel it was recorded in 2 weeks. Just think what we could have had if she had spent a few more moths on it.

Result 7/10 although lots of filler, some of it is rather enjoyable and there some classic Beyonce tunes on here

Meatloaf: Bat Out Of Hell III: the Monster Is Loose

1. The Monster Is Loose: This song really sets the mood for the rest of the album, and doesn’t pull any punches. A fierce rock track, and even at over seven minutes long, it doesn’t feel like it lasts too long. The bats out of hell 9/10

2. Blind As A Bat: At the beginning much softer than the song preceding it, but builds up momentum. Not as good as the song before it, but very good, and a catchy chorus. 8/10

3. It’s All Coming Back To Me Now: the first single off the album, and much like the sublime ‘I’d Do Anything For Love’ Made into a duet, and it works very well. An epic ballad, and only people like Meatloaf and Celine should even think of trying it. The creshendo’s and such really give the song great effect. Powerful, emotional, amaze. 10/10

4. Bad For Good: Hoorah! A classic guitar solo rings in this up tempo song, and it makes you feel like your back in the 80’s listening to Queen. The only problem is that it starts so well, but doesn’t really go anywhere. Surprisingly, the verses are better than the chorus! Still great 8/10

5. Cry Over Me: Another powerful ballad, not as good as the ones that have already been though. Sounds very theatrical, as if it could be performed in a musical. However, isn’t to the same standard as the rest of the album, until the end, when hes shouting and you can really feel the emotion. 7/10

6. In the Land Of the Pig, The butcher Is King: Holy $h!t!, a great slice of rock, powerful guitar, you can really feel the anger in this song. Once again, the song makes you feel your lost in some era where guitar like this ruled the world 9/10

7. Monstro: A orchestrial and powerful song, with meatloaf and a haunting choir giving great effect, which then changes to instrumental at the end. really adds to the theme of the album that ‘the monster is loose’ 9/10

8. Alive: Wow, all I can describe it as. The piano brings the song in, and it’s not long before the guitar really gets the song going. Meatloaf at his best. 10/10

9. If God Could Talk: One again, another rock ballad, and kind of like a superior Cry Over Me. Its songs like this that would sound good on radio. 8/10

10. If It Aint Broke, Break It: Angry, demanding, sublime. A great slice of classic heavy rock, and even manages to fit in the odd blast of brass! Reminds me a lot of ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’ which was great. 10/10

11. What About Love: Should Have Been the first single. One of the best songs on this amazing album, Meatloaf sounds incredible on this. A sing a long anthem which nobody can dislike, but everybody loves. The tune speeds up and slows down a lot, which adds to the effect on the song, and once again a female vocalist is used, but much better than the singer on the lead single. Holy $h!t 11/10

12. Seize The Night: the ‘Purple rain’ of the album, a rock epic which lasts almost 10 minutes, full of what meatloaf does best, key changes, speed changes, power changes, and the song feels as if its 5 different songs. The modern day Bohemian Rhapsody. Normally I would only give one 11 in an album, but this album deserves two. 11/10

13. The Future Aint What It used To Be: Much calmer than the last song, yet nearly as spectacular. A powerful uplifting ballad. Wow 10/10

14. Cry To Heaven: Very subtle and relaxed song to end, yet very emotional. Meatloaf shows amazing vocals at the end, and ends on a great line ‘’Cry to heaven, and if that doesn’t work, go ahead and cry to hell’’ 9/10

Overall: Wow, all I can say is wow. I was very unsure wether I would like this when I purchased it, but this is, without a doubt, my favourite album of the year. The whole album is a rollercoaster of emotion, power, and is a jem to listen to. The album follows the theme of ;the Monstar is Loose’ and that’s one of the reasons its so good, it actually feels like the songs belong together. Ive never listened to the previous Bat Out Of Hell albums, but if there apparently better than this, then may must be amazing.

Ive never had an album that’s made an impact like this on me after first listen, its just magical, music like this died years ago, and thank god meatloafs brought it back.

OVERALL SCORE: 10/10

High School Musical

Start Of Something New: The album opens with this pleasant enough mid-tempo track, which signifies the first meeting of Troy [Zac Efron] & Gabriella [Vanessa Hudgens]. The song won't wow you, but it sets the stage well for what will happen in the rest of the film. 7/10

Get'cha Head In The Game: One again, decent enough song, but not really wow. The way the basketballs begin the beat and how sounds from the game are used throughout the song is a clever move. 7/10

What I've Been Looking For: the first song sang by Sharpay [Ashley tisdale] & Ryan [Lucas Grabeel] A good uptempo song full of catchy hooks, and there vocals go well together. 8/10

What I've Been Looking For [Reprise]: Zac & Vanessa sing the song as it's meant to be, a beautiful piano ballad. Overall it sounds really innocent, and in the film shows another stepping stone in the relationship between them both. 8/10

Stick to The Status Quo: Finally, we get to the great stuff! A humorous, up tempo song which happily tells people to stick to what they know. One of the best songs of the soundtrack, just plain yay! 9/10

When There Was You & Me: Vanessa takes this song her own and delivers a heartfelt ballad, which is shamefully lost in the soundtrack, but could easily be an actual single. A great ballad. 9/10

Bop To The Top: Latino stereotypes ahoy! Catchy enough, but isn't really too different from the other song they sing together 7/10

Breaking Free: The second best song on the album, and the pivotal moment of the film! Both Zac & Vanessa sound great on this song, and not to mention the lyrics are great. It's easy to see why this was chosen as the lead HSM single. 10/10

We're All In This Together: The best song, a cheerful uptempo song which is easy to dance to and a great way to end the story Also, it delivers a great messege to people. Just fab! 11/10

I Can't Take My Eyes Off You: I don't actually remember this song from the movie  but never the less it's a good song, reminds me off a better 'Bop To The Top' 8/10

Get'cha head In The Game: Don't undersand why this is here tbh, it feels like they're trying to make the album longer by putting this cover in. It doesn't really add much else the original already has. 6/10

Overall: Its nothing groundbreaking and it wont change your life, but it's as far as a Disney soundtrack can go, it's great. Sure there are a couple of fillers, but there not fillers technically as each songs fits perfectly into where they go in the film, which I strongly suggest you watch, especially if you are purchasing this. My second favourite album of the year! :D 8/10

Good review matty, the reason you wont remember I cant take my eyes off you, is because it wasnt included in the movie  Just a soundtrack extra, and most of it I agree with, although I think SOSN would have agot an 8/10 and When There Was Me And You an 11 and We're All In This Together a 9
