Posted April 1, 200619 yr Today was the last day of the Saturday Chart Show, basically no performances just a review, of the past 7 years, with old recorded performances from Kylie Minogue, Westlife, Coldplay, and 2 other acts, personally I didn't watch, just listen to it in the background. I'm not too sure if CD:UK, is going to be replaced with another music show, but I've heard nothing about a new pop show. Saturday mornings will never be the same
April 1, 200619 yr they have to be having a laugh, most of the best performances in the top 10 were mimed  and Westlife #1 best performance  they said at the end" this could be the last CDUK"
April 1, 200619 yr Thanks Mikey and good riddance I say, it's been crap since Cat left. I agree, when cat, ant and dec where all presenting (along with that SM:TV live  ) saturday tv was brilliant, but those new presenters where crap
April 1, 200619 yr Once Cat Deeley left, the show was destined to fail. Which wasn't helped by the utterly crap new presenters they put on it! The review of the last 7 years was good. Though WHY was Westlife the no.1 best performance !! :puke2: Edited April 1, 200619 yr by fiesta
April 1, 200619 yr Unfortunately, if you look at the last 7 years in Pop Music - then Westlife have been the most commercially successful Pop Act, hence they "deserved" the no.1 best performance spot.

I agree, I'd obviously prefer it if they weren't, but they are more deserving than anyone else. -_-

April 1, 200619 yr Kylie's 'On A Night Like This' performance has always been the one I remembered
April 1, 200619 yr I never liked CDUK anyway :) I never watched the new format at all, i always prefered TOTP.
April 1, 200619 yr It went downhill before Cat left. When Cat was on her own, all we had was the likes of Pestlife, Busted, Mc$h!te & Slagonce on week after week. I'd love them to bring back THE CHART SHOW back in it's original C4 format. There was something for everyone with at least one track from most genres charts, even country charts and from European & World Charts. They had a track from a previous decade every week and that used to go in rotation. If this happened now it would be on a 4 week rotation from 1960s to 1990s. Apart from the Top 5 singles, the music was completely different every week and never played more than once. I still have some old shows on video. Edited April 1, 200619 yr by Euro Music
April 1, 200619 yr they said at the end" this could be the last CDUK" which probably means the producers are looking at how well the format does overseas before they flog it to channel 4 or sky
April 1, 200619 yr I missed it since I got a job about 9 months ago, but I HEAR it was awful towards the end.
April 1, 200619 yr They should have just ended the program when Ant and Dec left as that was when I tsopped watching it, and I think I've seen it twice since they left and the show was complete crap, and the new presenters are rubbish.
April 1, 200619 yr They could bring back the Chart Show, but video shows aren't the novelty they were in the 80s and 90s cos there are so many satellite music channels available. It was much better than CD:UK though...and the indie chart used to teach me everything I needed to know about music on a tri-weekly basis :D
