October 29, 200618 yr I thought it was a good comeback episode, it was very sad in the end, it was good how they went out on a high instead of taking the somber approach. A great mix of comedy, emotion, and good acting from the team. I'd be happy to see a new series, but if it doesn't happen it was a good final send-off.
October 30, 200618 yr I don't know how anyone can cry over a tv program  :o Its not as if the actress that plays the part has died merely a character in a tv series etc I think it hit me hard because we've always said that Nana is very similar to my own grandmother, and it just really makes you realise how much you take them for granted while they're still here. :( Such a sad topic.
October 30, 200618 yr Author a good programme draws you in to the story, you become part of it, identifying with 'real' characters. it was emotional because she died happy and was a likeable character.
October 30, 200618 yr it was beautiful and touching great great writing and acting!! it doesn't get any better than this
October 30, 200618 yr I've always loved The Royle Family and would always put it in my top 3/5 tv programmes ever but I think after last night it is my number one favourite. It was by far the best thing that's been on TV all year. Catherine Aherne and Craig Cash are such great writers, it was superb. And if Liz Smith doesn't win every award going it will be a travesty. One of the finest actresses alive! I'm hoping Craig will do another series of Early Doors next!
October 30, 200618 yr I really enjoyed the one of special of the royle family. It was really sad when the nana died i was crying. well you can never forget about the aguing that they did was really funny.
October 30, 200618 yr It was fantastic me thought! although i also cried when Nana died  it was really sad same with when she was doin her hair :( it would of been better as a series to end it off with Nana leaving us on the last episode Cheryls matchmakin was well funny!!! Derek, Soloman & Slash
October 30, 200618 yr I think it's a pity that this was only a one hour episode- it could easily have stretched to 3. I thought it was fantastic and really hope to see more.
October 30, 200618 yr It was a one off. :( There will not be another series. :( It is so touching and realistic because the writers use real experiences and people in their writing :( oh and was released on DVD today Edited October 30, 200618 yr by ICR
October 30, 200618 yr I'm glad it's a one off, they don't wanna ruin it. I totally agree. Remember how Only Fools & Horses "finished" with a trilogy of near perfect episodes (Xmas 1999) which resulted in the Trotters finally "becoming millionaires". But then the writer (John Sullivan) relented to public pressure & brought the show back for a few not very good Xmas Specials.
October 30, 200618 yr Brilliant writing, brilliant acting, the best hour of tv I have watched in a long time. This has to win some awards, Liz Smith was fantastic, and the writing as ever was top! At the beginning of the episode I was kinda hoping, that they may write some more, but seeing the way it ended, think it would be great to leave it like that. Out with a bang! Liz was on Paul O'Grady today, and they showed the clip of her with Sue brushing her hair again  Defo getting the dvd! Juicy extras an all! * Commentaries from Caroline Aherne, Craig Cash and Ralf Little * Outtakes * Deleted scenes * making of: featurette * Family tree: featurette Edited October 30, 200618 yr by shiv

They should have ended it all with them walking into the sunset after becoming millionaires, because they finally made it. In the recent specials they are all just too old.
