It took five years and the class of '92 city sorry Salford City have been promoted to the Football League.

AFC Fylde shame for them. Not a good couple of days of them, first yesterday the story of their accountant who took £250,000 and spent it on adult web sessions and other things and now a defeat in the play-off final. They were this time ten years ago in the tenth tier of the football pyramid.

Both clubs got to this stage through lots of money though, I didn't really want to see either of them go up. Was hoping for Solihull Moors or Eastleigh instead.
Yeah Salford can feck right off, file them under the likes of Forest Green and Fleetwood, nothing clubs that have come up with a massiveload of cash. Hope they come crashing back down.
1-0 to Woking in the National League North play-off final against Welling.

National League South, you mean! Woking is very much not in the north!

The National League North play-off final is currently 0-0 between Chorley and Spennymoor.

Still further north than Woking though :)

And the National League North play-off final has now ended, Chorley are promoted after beating Spennymoor on penalties.

You'll be hoping that Salford City don't go down the same way as Rushden & Diamonds or Gretna.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rushden_&_Diamonds_F.C.

Rushden and Diamonds FC, they were promoted into the Football League on the back of excessive funding, they were not doing too badly until the money pit was taken away from them...They are now AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

AFC Fylde denied National League champions Leyton Orient a non-league double as Danny Rowe's free-kick was enough to overcome the O's in the FA Trophy final at Wembley.
