October 29, 200618 yr I dont understand what all the fuss is about really. Granted, their song is not the best and did no way deserve the top spot this week. At the end of it all, its all down to sales and if people didnt like the song they wouldnt buy it, after all isnt the chart a reflection of sales and if they sold, thats why theyre number one. Plus it aint that bad a song no need to take it so seriously anything to go top 40 should be thankful i know i would be!!!!

I think texting a number to receive a video+download(or similiar) doesn't really seem like a sales or a real committement. It's similiar to voting for X-Factor by texting in a number. If every X-Factor vote counted as a sales in the chart it would really make a mess of the chart, yet while not quite the same, what has happened here is not far different if I understand correctly.
October 29, 200618 yr Well I say good luck to the lads. Judging by the number of fans waiting hours in the rain on Wednesday for the signings at HMV at the Fort Retail Park in Birmingham they'll be around for a long while yet. Fans slept outside the shop overnight in order to get the wristbands which were handed out from 9am. By midday all 1200 of them were gone . They did the signings at 4pm.
October 29, 200618 yr And another boyband are using the same strategy in a week's time in an attempt to beat All Saints, U2 & Green Day & Christina Aguilera to #1. :arrr: Please TELL me you're joking? :arrr:
October 30, 200618 yr I don't have a particular problem with them, but acts who only sell well because of a hard-core fanbase, which like them more because they fancy them than the music and who have virtually no appeal outside of that are annoying in general. To be honest, even though Star Girl isn't very good whichever way you look at it, I prefer it to that dire Fedde whatever thing. Edited October 30, 200618 yr by ghostwriter
October 30, 200618 yr Please TELL me you're joking? :arrr: No he's serious but I'm not sure who he means. I guess it's westlife :manson:
October 30, 200618 yr to0 be fair mc fly have loyal fans regardless of there motives but they see them to number 1 alot so mc fly are very lucky in that way, personnally i hate the band and there music
October 30, 200618 yr No he's serious but I'm not sure who he means. I guess it's westlife :manson: Exactly. :manson: I hope my All Saints can beat them.
October 30, 200618 yr the more i hear the new all saints song the more i dislike it,so im not bothered if wetlife beat them or not as im not a fan of either,i just hope take that get to number 1 with patience
October 30, 200618 yr I think Mcfly are great, can't understand how people can't like them even a little xxxxxx I can - It's just a load of noise from these ugly talentless morons. I can't stand Pestlife either but they can have at least minor hits in Europe and Aussie. Mc$h!te have never done anything outside UK & Ireland. If Mc$h!te is the best the UK can do then i'll stick with European music. From 60s to 80s UK & US were the world leaders in music but now they are the worst with a few exceptions.
October 30, 200618 yr this reeks of desperation the record company panicing that their fan base are starting to grow up and out of them, they have to go all out every time, instense marketing and mega media whoring to secure #1 but the problem is this all happens in just one week and many of their songs don't have strong legs (hang around the top 10 for very long) cause they don't appeal to the general public only their core fanbase thats why they fall so much the following weeks, i can't wait to see it tumble
October 30, 200618 yr So? Performing live - fairly common Giving out wristbands - check the instores section on the HMV or Virgin websites and that is the norm for acts who are going to attract a large crowd - the store has to do it for safety reasons I'm sure no-one was forced to buy all 3 formats to get a signature. In fact for time reasons they would probably only have been allowed to get one item signed. yep, it was one item each, well, was "meant" to be one item each Well I say good luck to the lads. They did the signings at 4pm. there were 600 in edinburgh and were all gone by 9am (when i got there at 6.30am, there must've been about 500 people there, cos there was less than 100 people behind me that got in) anyways less about the actual signings, i do think it was kinda cut throat promotion for the single...
October 30, 200618 yr Author Great end to a pointless topic! :yahoo: If it's pointless where did you read 2 pages of it and then post in it? I wanted a factual question answered -that was the point of the topic- and people have answered.
