In September, the band began meeting in New York City with Justin Timberlake and producer Timbaland on a potential collaboration. They were soon reported to have completed three songs with the producer, one of which is a duet with Timberlake :D

The new album and its first single are tentatively expected to be released early in 2007. :)

Should be rather interesting.
why are people only just beginning to use Timbaland? -_-

According to the band's website, the lead single from their next album is penciled in for a "Spring release" and is "likely" to be the DD/JT collaboration.

Timbaland has also been recently working with Bjork & Bloc Party.

While Duran Duran are currently on a mini-USA tour using British session musician Dom Brown (who has recorded/toured with Girls Aloud & Sugababes, amongst others) as their guitarist to replace the recently departed (quit/fired?) Andy Taylor. They are due to go into the studio for two weeks in November to finish the album, before it is ready for mixing, etc.

Should be rather interesting.

Definately should be interesting. I like Duran Duran, but not really a fan of either of Timberland or Timberlake.

i dont like the sound of this at all, i like some of duran durans material but i woul dnever putthem together with timbaland
Not another artist/band working with Timberland. At least Duran Duran's material has been original upto now, unlike alot of other artists who try and work with the producers like Timberland to produce the current trend of urban c**p.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel then!

Timbaland is hardly bottom of the barrel. One of the greatest producers of music at the moment.

Naturally you would'nt have a clue. :)

One of the most used and "american sounding" producers you meen - it does not meen he's great. That's like saying Stock Aitken & waterman were the "greatest" producers of the 80's because of their success - Its what you may think is great but to others it meens a great band like Duran Duran are selling out and doing any sound to sell, kind of like a few of Timberland's projects lately...

If Duran Duran were to collaberate with anybody I would enjoy a Xenomania/Duran collaberation or even with Richard X - Maybe a modern twist to their 80's electro and new romantic days

Timberlake helps on Duran album

BBC Entertainment News

British band Duran Duran are collaborating with Justin Timberlake on their new album.

Lead singer Simon Le Bon said Timberlake had contributed "in a writing and production manner" on a forthcoming song.

He added that they had also worked with producer Timbaland on three tracks and other producers were interested.

The band, who are currently touring Europe and the US, recently split with guitarist Andy Taylor.

Le Bon added: "We've got some good stuff happening. We've done three tracks with Timbaland.

"We've collaborated in a writing and production manner on one of those tracks with Justin Timberlake.

"We've got a lot of really hot producers who are hotly interested in working with us at the moment. We are in a very good space."

Duran Duran had their biggest hits in the 1980s with songs including Rio and The Reflex.

The group lost one of its founding members after guitarist Andy Taylor left the group last month.

Bassist John Taylor likened the split to a divorce, saying: "There were many strong differences of feeling within the band for some time now."

Interesting combination.
