November 3, 200618 yr Judie Tzuke is another who is mega under-rated. Just another 2 cents from me :) true, but she seemed to run out of steam very quickly... id also throw in as 'also rans' beth orton, and eliza carthy.
November 3, 200618 yr Kate Bush without a doubt, if you are allowed to include the Irish I will say Enya who is my fave female vocalist probably, also Shirley Bassey Edited November 3, 200618 yr by Kimi Räikkönen
November 5, 200618 yr Annie Lennox is a legend through and through. People need to appreciate the depth and beauty of her work - I know 'No More I Love Yous' is a cover version but it is one of my favourite songs ever - so haunting and the way she always makes every video so dramatic and eerie. I adore her. Annie Lennox is dreadful i bet her albums is like a middle aged woman moaning for an hour, i can enough at that from my mum!!!! (note: op based on solo stuff i have heard, not heard 'No More I Love Yous' and that tourists record last night was alright for an old power pop cover i suppose. not gonna be bothered youtubing the whole of the erythmics back cat any way)
November 6, 200618 yr i'd say 1. kate bush (way ahead of the competition) 2. annie lennox 3. dusty springfield
