Halsey has posted a clip of a new song titled "Without Me" on her Instagram, due to be released on 4th October. It's her first new solo material since last year's 'Hopeless Fountain Kingdom' album.

 

Personally her last album was my favourite but I know a lot of people prefer 'Badlands'. Either way, it's great to have her back so soon. Hopefully she'll manage to ride her recent success as a feature on "Eastside" to finally achieve a solo top 40 single!

I think this is my favourite song of hers so far, it's the song that Mollie King should have followed 'Back To You' with.

LOVE IT. The only thing bothering me is the excess autotune but the Cashmere Cat-esque production more than makes up for it.

Well I am absolutely loving this.

 

I find it baffling how this is having so much success here when "Now or Never" and "Bad at Love" did absolutely nothing here. I guess she left it too late to capitalise on the success of "Closer" with "Now or Never" whereas "Eastside" is still fairly fresh.

 

She's said that this is a one-off single and won't be appearing on any of her albums so album #3 is probably still going to be a while away.

This is incredible.

 

I began listening to her following 'New Americana' and I did love 'Now Or Never' so I'm glad to see she's finally going to get a UK solo hit! I wonder if the success of this will mean she will make her work on her new album quicker

#1 on Spotify Australia *.* I think it could easily match the #2 peak of Eastside here

I literally just realised that this samples/interpolates "Cry Me a River" - very clever!

Wasn't expecting that to get that high in the charts, a pleasant surprise to see it in the Top10.

I know, a slice of toast in the morning is more alternative than her. :P

but I'd say she's far more interesting than Anne Marie, really don't see why the comparison

 

I'm happy she's finally having a solo hit, thought she'd never do it in the uk and would only succeed with features

Find all of her solo output so blah, as per Anne-Marie. I guess it's a bit of an unfair comparison though.

 

Edit: just listened to "Without Me" again and it clicked with me a bit, and is also listed as 'Alternative' on Apple Music :lol: :rolleyes:
