Which is better? And why :o? Both quite simular songs in the sense that they are ballads and have quite a simular theme. What is your favourite, and why?

'Beautiful' by a mile, it may be bleh and over-emotional but it wasn't a re-has NOR was it boring like 'Hurt' is now.

 

I just can't take 'Hurt' seriously, it wasn't written by her and its not about her :/

Hurt is my personal favourite of the two but I voted based on lyrics and in that sense 'Beautiful' because of the message - its such a moving song and I know at the time I was struggling to accept my sexuality but the song really helped me. :wub:

I just think that Beautiful was played to death in the end, and wasn't really that strong as a ballad - if Beautiful was set to the music of The Voice Within I'd have voted for it.

Hurt definatly her voice is so strong and it is really good when she sings the song live :wub:

its gotta be 'Hurt'... :wub: her vocals are just out of this world, really does put all other artists to shame IMO!! the song wasnt wrote about christina BUT she changed the lyrics to suit her and is now dedicated-ish to her grandmother!!

 

'Beautiful' is a CLASSIC and will always be the single that gave christina that something extra!! :wub:

Beautiful, that song is amazing, a real classic :wub: hurt is good, but it just doesnt have the same universal appeal that beautiful had

'Hurt' is a million times better I think, much more powerful and emotional.

I'm gonna say Beautiful as it stands the test of time, and I'm not sure about Hurt yet. I love it but I wonder if it will still be remembered in 5 years time as Beautiful is...

Hurt is good, but it's a bit of a cheesy ballad. Beautiful is a classic and it felt more relevant at the time because people could relate to it.
