Posted November 6, 20187 yr https://variety.com/2018/film/news/shrek-pu...1203020785/amp/ The co-director of Despicable Me is planning to bring back the Shrek franchise, as well as Puss in Boots. Dreamworks and Illumination are now both owned by Universal, so this is likely why he is doing it. I'm very happy he says he wants to bring back the original voice cast!
November 6, 20187 yr They should focus on Despicable Me!! I have seen enough of Shrek since that plug video
November 6, 20187 yr Author I quite liked the first two Despicable Me films, I think they've run it into the ground with Minions. What was the plug video?
November 6, 20187 yr Presumably this one... (NSFW watch at your own risk lol) -gYqd7kGRFk hopefully a return to the quality of Shrek 1 and 2 is to come but I don't trust Illumination do deliver that considering they gave us Minions.
November 6, 20187 yr Author It's still DreamWorks producing it! It's just the guy from Illumination at the helm.
November 7, 20187 yr Ugh Illumination is literally the worst high profile animation company out there. They bring such lifeless and unfunny cash-grabbing films to the market eg. Minions, Secret Life of Pets and Sing (all of which are getting unnecessary, lifeless and unfunny cash-grabbing sequels in the next two years, yay). Although the Grinch reboot does look promising enough but I'm not expecting much. Just please don't ruin Shrek forever.
November 7, 20187 yr Original Grinch is trash, so this eill be just as bad Minions was trash :( And uh that's the video!!
November 7, 20187 yr Huh, it IS never ogre. obligatory f*** illumination, may whoever is involved sully the product as little as possible
November 7, 20187 yr Secret Life of Pets was a good movie! I can’t say the same for anything else they’ve made but I enjoyed that a lot (in part to the great voice cast, sure)
November 7, 20187 yr I think SLOP may even me my least fav Illumination film. Yes even worse than Minions. I hated everything about it. It was, like the acronym suggests, sloppy and uninspired. Especially given how soon after the VASTLY superior Zootopia it was released (I'm making the connection as both feature talking animals).
November 7, 20187 yr Another cash cow that'll be milked dry whatever the quality based on a once great franchise, wonderful. Though I don't know why I hope for anything else with films from my childhood these days.
April 7, 20197 yr I think the last movie reached a satisfying conclusion, but if they have a good idea for it, I'm open to it. Edited April 10, 20197 yr by J▲hq no suspicious links please
