'Castles' well it just sounds similar to something that Florence would do. They both sound similar. Really like this from Freya.

I hope there's some more upbeat tracks to be found on here when it's finally released. Castles aside, everything is nice enough but could be quite the chore to sit through if it's all like that.

from the album tracks that are old (80%) the only really upbeat one is Castles, Ultraviolet is also a bit poppy but not in the same way as Castles but it's not a ballad either... but the rest of songs are all ballads...

but then there's 3/4 songs we never heard so might be upbeat

I’d say Love Is Fire is more akin to Castles tempo than the ballads.

didn't know Love is Fire but found it now and yeps it's more upbeat... so even if few, there are gonna be some faster tracks to add some dynamic to the album

think it's gonna be great

There's always a risk when an artist's live material becomes popular and those songs are later recorded in the studio, that the the edges are shaved off in the studio (Radio and At Your Side by The Corrs spring to mind, the versions on In Blue were underwhelming and overproduced compared to the Unplugged versions).

 

Luckily Freya's got it spot on. If anything, Castles and Love Is Fire have been vastly improved with studio production, even though the live versions were already great. Holy Water is also excellent!

 

And her ballads are just perfect, so hauntingly beautiful.

 

Would still like a studio version of Lost Without You with strings at some point though, like the St Pancras Old Church live version, even if just an alternative mix released onto Spotify.

Of the album tracks Love Is Fire and Holy Water are my favourites

All right it was probably I was probably a bit harsh with the Florence comparisons here on 'Castles'. Could 'Castles' go Top20 next?

 

 

it's top 20 in the mids this week, album in the Mids at #2 with 9K already

It is a strong opening for the album.

After You Mean The World to Me i did not think she would come close to this success with the album.

Castles has greatly helped turn that around.
