Albums that the public forgot which are absolutely amazing and wipe the floor with the trash that sells by the bucketload...

Can you think of any?

Two spring to mind for me -

Sinead Quinn - 'Ready To Run'

Amy Studt - 'False Smiles'

Both wrote or co-wrote the entire album. Amy's album was a bit Avril Lavigne in places but it also had a much softer mellow side to it as well - my favourites include hit single 'Misfit' 'Going Out Of My Mind' 'Nobody' 'Beautiful Lie' and the amazing 'Ladder In My Tights' which if you download any song from this baby make it that one.

Sinead's album is so much different to the manufactured c**p you'd come to expect from reality TV contestants title track written for Sinead's brother 'Ready To Run', the very rockafied 'Overkill' and the gorgeous 'Lucky Escape' which may go over your head on the first listen but is very beautiful and has deep meaning.

'Never Happy' is about not being content with what you look like due to the whole PLASTIC fadthe world seems to think is essential to be beautiful and it also includes the hit singles 'I Can't Break Down' and 'What You Need Is'

Meant to be her english breakthrough, but alas was never meant to be. This is in my top 5 albums of all time, yet it is criminally under-rated. She jumps from the simple themes of 'Easy Breezy' to the behemoth of a song that is 'Kremlin Dusk' while as a whole the album is a genre mix of electro/rock/R&B/Dance and traditional japanese instruments. The lyrical content varies from such things as 'Push it Up Push it down, What A Workout' to genius like 'Born In A World Of Opposite Attraction, Or Is It A Natural Deception'

I would recommend this hidden classic to anyone

I totally agree! This album was ace and so was "don't want you back"

I'd definitely agree on Rachel Stevens - Come And Get It.

One of my favourite pop albums ever now I think, and it pains me that her first album was moderately successful when it was utter garbage, yet this perfect pop album flopped on it's ass. :(

yeah, her first album was awful! People are crazy for not buying her second album. It just goes to show though that good music does not sell the artist. the artist has to be interesting, and rachel is not very interesting. is she?

I loved Come & Get it too, there isn't really a bad song on it, and all the singles were amazing... She had too many singles out before she released the album though -_-

So many spring to mind. Just to name a few -

Rachel Stevens - Come And Get It

Jo O'Meara - Relentless (really superb album well worth the buy)

Geri Halliwell - Passion (another really good album)

I just heard some Ellie Campell... Amazing. I might get her album/s off ebay :P

Well, not very really. I do think if Kylie recorded Come And Get It, it would be classed as one of her best albums ever.

I like all of Come And Get It apart from one song, and that was 'It's All About Me'...

I'm glad to have introduced you to her. :)

Yeah but for example. "come & get it" in my oppinion is a much better album than "body language" - but Kylie's album sold more, as an artist and a symbol she has allot more appeal than Rachel Stevens. Regardless of who had the better music. The general public never took a big likeing to Rachel Stevens. People generally don't have much of an oppinion on her

The Five Albums of the 21st Century that I love that flopped despite being brilliant are:

Dannii - Girl

Nelly Furtado - Folklore, - had some success, but deserved alot more

Come & Get It - I swear was only thrown aside because it was Rachel Stevens. -_-

Had it been released by a more credible artist it would've been huge - totally brilliant pop music - just what the market is lacking atm but obv doesn't want.

The Pipettes album grates bar a couple of tracks - it's very samey and too short and most of the songs don't really take off at all it reminds me of 10 year olds doing those silly chants in the playground where they clap hands and make up rhymes.

Agree with the second Rachel Stevens album and Sinead Quinn. Both very good albums, but ignored because people assumed they'd be no good. :(

Spot on about your Rachel Stevens comments. I think its the same with Dannii Minogue - nobody wants to think she is capable of anything good so they overlook her. Rachel was overlooked
