Posted July 17, 201014 yr Did anyone else here watch the six-part series?? Personally, I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Perhaps it took a couple of weeks to get going but the two-part finale was, in my opinion, the finest piece of British television in a long time. It was gripping and had my whole family sitting on the edge of our seats. Ruth Wilson, additionally, was truly brilliant in her role and is an actress that Britain should be proud of. Alice Morgan turned into my favourite character in the series and, despite her crime in the first episode, was a real voice of reason and intelligence in John Luther's life. Some of the lines and phrases she had were truly magnificent!! Is there anyone else hoping for a second series??
August 29, 201014 yr Better than nothing! Series one was fantastic. Totally ridiculous of course but it was never anything less than thrillingly fun.
August 30, 201014 yr yeah I suppose. I was hoping for at least another 6 eps. i was also expecting at least 6
June 12, 201114 yr Turns out the new series is four eps (two 2 parters) beginning Tuesday at 9 :D SO EXCITED.
June 14, 201114 yr The ending made me jump I really wasn't expecting that. I was more expecting the lady detective was going to get it when the lights when out.
June 14, 201114 yr At first I thought oh GOD why have they split up, him in the car is gonna get it and then as it went on I thought the girl was leading the female copper into a trap so yeah the end took me by surprise too.
June 14, 201114 yr wow at the ending. I thought the girl was going to get it, didn't think it would be the male copper!
June 21, 201114 yr Really enjoyed the episode tonight, I yelped when that guy hammered his hand to the table.
June 21, 201114 yr Oh god yeah, I was open-mouthed for about five minutes after that. Totally ludicrous of course that he didn't even need to go for a check-up, in fact he seemed to forget there was a hole in his hand after that. :D Bloody good episode though. If that's the last we've seen of Alice I'll really miss the barmy old girl.
June 23, 201114 yr Oh god yeah, I was open-mouthed for about five minutes after that. Totally ludicrous of course that he didn't even need to go for a check-up, in fact he seemed to forget there was a hole in his hand after that. :D Bloody good episode though. If that's the last we've seen of Alice I'll really miss the barmy old girl. Yeah, and, err, how long did he have that plastic bag over his head for...?? I'm thinking hypoxia and suffocation would result within minutes.....
June 28, 201114 yr That was the most creepy episode ever, the guy just creeped me out especially when he stared at the shopkeeper  gave me the chills and spinetingling. The ending was just spectacular, it just left me gobsmacked didn't see that coming, I just want to watch the next episode now.
June 28, 201114 yr I only started watching it this series, but I already find it utterly terrifying/unbelievable - yet it's completely gripping at the same time. Jenny murdering the weird bloke came as a huge shock.
July 5, 201113 yr The final episode was nothing short of magnificent. Epic in fact and I don't usually approve of that word since it's so misused but Luther really does do everything on an epic scale. It doesn't think small at all. Jenny is an amazing sidekick to John too. Definitely a worthy replacement for Alice (although I like to think that Alice will be back when/if a third series happens).
July 5, 201113 yr I agree on the comments so far, just brilliant, and very very clever! I didn't watch the first series, but is it worth watching, as I can definitely see myself coming back for the (hopeful) third one. Oh and I'm also LOVIN' Jenny too! Has the actress been in anything before, or was this her début? Edited July 5, 201113 yr by THEO.
July 5, 201113 yr Aimee Ffion Edwards has been in quite a bit of stuff including the first generation of Skins. And yeah the first series is fantastic although some people felt it didn't get going until about half way through. I personally don't think there's ever been a duff episode. Some of the killers in the first series were more terrifying than the two in the second and there was also John's relationship with his wife which played out pretty fantastically. You should defo watch.
