John Higgins beats Mark Selby 6-4.

 

The World Number 1 is out of the Coral Players Championship. It will be a O'Sullivan v Higgins quarter-final then.

 

 

Another early exit for Selby again. He has only won three tournaments across all of last season and this one combined, and he hasn't troubled any of the triple crown events.

 

In fact he is often the forgotten man, not getting the mentions the others do, and he is world number one!

I think Jack Lisowski must be feeling as a sick as a parrot after he let a 5-2 lead slip away against Judd Trump in their quarter-final match, with Trump winning 6-5.

Ronnie´s now playing exceptionally low-key snooker, which suits very well to him. But once again he needs to try to forget being completely flawless. If he fails to be slightly flawless in terms of missing a one or two easy position shots, I mean failing to get the cannon correct, John will probably get better of him in their Players Championship quarter-final this afternoon.

 

I think it will be Neil Robertson that will win against him and Trump, probably a 6-4 win for him.

That achievement of 1000 centuries is one of the greatest achievements in snooker, absolutely phenomenal stuff from Ronnie. The last few shots had more cheers than someone winning the World Championship or for a maximum.

ISTM that titles in these smaller events are somewhat downgraded, given how many of the other big names don't enter them. :unsure:

 

Mark Selby reels off an incredible six consecutive frames, with the aid of three centuries, to open up a 6-2 lead over Neil Robertson at the halfway stage of the contest of the Tour Championship.

 

 

Judd Trump wins four straight frames to come back and beat Mark Williams in the Tour Championship from being 8-5 down.

 

In the other match between Selby and Neil Robertson. It was Neil Robertson who won 9-8 on the final black in a 65 minute final frame.

Ronnie came back from 6-2 and 8-5 down to win 10-9 on the black in what was a crazy last frame after Trump missed three chances to win it.

Neil Robertson will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Tour Championship final after sweeping past Mark Allen 10-6.
