I heard them say that in the commentary but wasn't Lance Stroll leading for a bit in that crazy German GP this year? I'm guessing he didn't actually *cross* the line on any lap whilst in first but a part of me thinks they forgot about that even happening!

aye i thought that too,

must have just felt longer cos it felt so wrong!

All four drivers from the Red Bull and Toro Rosso teams will be hit with grid penalties at the Russian Grand Prix.

Engine partner Honda has decided to fit all four cars with new engines to ensure they are in the best competitive shape for the subsequent race at its home in Japan.

In Sochi, Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon and Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly drop five places on the grid.

Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat will start at the back for his home race on Sunday.

Formation start for Ferrari. Lecelrc didn't even try to defend the inside.
Given what happened the last time a typhoon turned up at Suzuka on race weekend, I just hope the right people make the right decisions

FIA & FOM have already made preparations for Typhoon Hagibis. If conditions on Saturday don't allow any running the qualifying will be held on Sunday 9 a.m. local time.

I really hope qualifying is postponed given the tragic events the last time a typhoon turned up at Suzuka in 2014.

Daniel Ricciardo has made an out-of-court agreement to settle a legal dispute in which his former manager was claiming more than £10m.

Glenn Beavis filed a lawsuit in the London High Court in July claiming he had not been paid commissions owed to him on Ricciardo's Renault contract.

Beavis said in a statement that the pair had "reached an amicable settlement over the amounts due".

Leclerc’s post race penalties are - 2 points on his licence, a 5 sec time penalty for the incident and a further 10 secs for driving the car in an unsafe manner following his refusal to pit.

He loses one position.

Which is precisely why he should have been penalised during the race. I'v no idea why they couldn't do that, it was about as blatant a crash as you could ever see, intentional or not. Vettel somehow escaped punishment for jumping the start despite Raikkonen doing the exact same in the last race.

Some very strange stewarding today. Albon should also have got penalised for his "move" on Norris, or at least had to let him back past. There's hard racing & then there's literally barging someone off the track.

Good watch though, definitely worth waking up for. I think Merc probably could have left Lewis at the end but I recall James to Valterri "I owe you one" in Singapore, so maybe this was it? Cost Merc a 1-2 however.
