Posted April 2, 200619 yr ATP's Dont Look Back festival is going on again in July with bands such as Tennage Fanclub playing their album Bandwagonesque and Tortoise performing their album Millions now living will never die. There are 5 acts appearing from Wed 19th July to Wed 26th July in different venues in London all playing their best album in full. However if you could be put in charge of next year's Dont look back festival. what 5 acts would you get performing which of their career defining albums in full and live? Edited April 2, 200619 yr by tigerboy
April 3, 200619 yr I'll lily go to the Low one this summer. Should be a treat! As for albums I'd pick here are 5 that come to mind: Jesus & Mary Chain - Pyschocandy Depeche Mode - Violator The Beta Band - The 3 EP's Dj Shadow - Endtroducing (not sure how it would be done either, but damn it I'm gonna list it!) Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump

The tours I saw of NIN, Ministry and Sonic Youth were the albums you picked as well... of these 3 Ministry was the best.

It was a hard choice for me between whether I'd want to see Pavement do "Slanted.." or "Crooked Rain...", but then I remembered that the one and only time I ever saw Pavement was when they supported Sonic Youth in '92, and they pretty much played "Slanted...." in its entirety... I saw Ministry tour with "Psalm 69" back in '92 as well, but for some fukkin' bizarre reason they didn't play "Jesus Built My Hotrod" even though we were all screaming at the top of our lungs for it.... Awkward c**t Jourgenson isn't he....?  I will be seeing Ministry in August though at M'Era Luna. Ministry's past two albums (especially "Rio Grande Blood") are every bit as strong musically and visceral as "Psalm 69" IMO.... Actually, I should pick another Sonics album for them to play, I heard most of "Dirty" when they toured with it in '92, but I just loved that album so much. "Goo" I like, but "Dirty" I love.... "Daydream Nation" or "Sister" would be good ones... "Evol" would maybe be a bit too much of a headfukk though...

Will have to get their recent albums if that good - tho i don't care much for industrial these days (my fav band in the genre was always kmfdm fyi - the money tour remains one of my top 5 gigs ever). Sonic Youth is a weird one as i've seen them 3 times and while good - they never really connect with me (or on albums - but goo was my first and like quite a few songs is why i chose it).... still a band I admire and am happy to see them again at ATP in Dec.

I saw KMFDM a few years back, I was a bit disappointed with them live, the sound was awful, which is strange because I really rate their albums...
June 6, 200619 yr i saw them twice... the first time was best... about 15 years ago at a small venue that let under 21's in (rare in seattle). Really small and intimate and was amazing. Saw them a couple years later and was horrible. Seen En Esch with Pigface as well - a decent concert but nothting great. The drummer was the best I've ever seen tho - a robot on steroids!
