J Balvin and Troye Sivan repping artists later than D in the alphabet in that top 10 :lol:

'Sanctify' and 'Paradise' are both great, glad that they did better in this than their more popular follow-ups.

10 Bruno Mars (ft. Cardi B) - Finesse 438pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 07-05-06-09-07-09-13-17-20-40-41-42-43-57-70-X-75-> 16wks

Kicking off the Top 10 is the winning combo of Bruno Mars and Cardi B with a remix of 'Finesse', which served as his final single off of '24k Magic' and went on to be a huge hit due to the 90's throwback styling of the video and production on the song. They have attempted to recreate the magic in Cardi's current single 'Please Me' but falls a little short imo. This felt really fresh from everything else when it was initially released, hence it's success.

09 Cardi B (ft. J Balvin & Bad Bunny) - I Like It 447pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 40-23-20-15-17-19-19-16-13-09-09-08-08-09-11-08-09-14-31-40-39-45-48-56-63-67-X-66-> 27wks

At #09 is Cardi B's breakthrough hit, well at least in the UK, in 'I Like It', the latin inspired bop which proved the most popular when released from her 'Invasion Of Privacy' debut album. It heavily samples 'I Like It Like That', the 1967 hit from Pete Rodriguez and went on to become Cardi's second chart topper in the US and a Top 10 hit for her in the UK. As annoying as Cardi may be as a human, there is no denying this is a bop.

08 Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next 491pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 01-01-01-01-01-01-03-05-02-02-06-08-22-28-X-30-36-> 16wks (so far)

The first of Ariana's four singles to appear in the Top 8 is surprise release and lead single from her current album of the same name, thank u, next, a mid tempo bop talking about all of her exes which also shows a Mean Girls and 90's romcom inspired video serve as a visual which went viral for Ariana. It's probably one of the most talked about released I can remember in a long time! It is personally my favourite of the three singles she has released from the album so far, just does not get old and showcases a different side to Ariana perfectly :wub:

07 Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman 516pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 04-10-10-13-12-06-06-12-13-30-39-43-49-52-> 14wks

At #07 is also Ariana, this time with the female empowerment anthem 'God Is A Woman', the second single to be released from her 'Sweetener' album, showcasing one of her most impressive videos and became a Top 10 hit for her on both sides of the Atlantic, it unfortunately seems to be forgotten about slightly on the grand scheme of things but was still another hit for Ari. An instant classic for me, the build up to the final chorus is everything :wub:.

06 Clean Bandit (ft. Demi Lovato) - Solo 524pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 12-10-06-02-01-02-03-03-03-13-18-20-17-18-22-28-36-38-47-50-59-65-70-X-64-> 24wks

Just missing out on the Top 5 is Clean Bandit with the help of Demi Lovato in 'Solo', yet another #01 hit for Clean Bandit and the fourth single from their sophomore album 'What Is Love?' which was released at the end of the last year. It was a fairly surprising collab as they have usually stuck to lesser known or UK based acts, so Demi seemed like a big name for them at the time. It was personally one of my favourite #01 hits from last year and was a great party anthem for them, it has served as a great soundtrack to many a night out for me!

05 Charli XCX & Troye Sivan - 1999 537pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 51-67-59-41-17-17-13-24-29-47-X-60-75-> 12wks

Kicking off the Top 5 is Charli XCX and Troye Sivan with their nostalgic 90's anthem '1999', which became Charli's biggest hit since 'Boom Clap'! It was great to see it become a hit for Charli, even if it was over just as quickly as it begun it felt like. The video was a stroke of genius and is one of the best nostalgia esque videos I have seen (Anne-Marie, take note).

04 Ariana Grande - Breathin 562pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 08-11-17-18-16-19-15-18-26-62-65-48-48-69-> 14wks

At #04 is Ariana Grande once again with the third and final single from 'Sweetener', 'Breathin' a uplifting pop anthem about dealing with anxiety, closing off a perfect singles run from a ... okay album (soon to be rectified with 'thank u, next'). I wish this was a bigger hit for Ariana but thankfully it became a huge radio hit for Ariana and seems to be well remembered among all fans.

03 Calvin Harris (ft. Dua Lipa) - One Kiss 568pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 03-01-01-01-01-01-01-01-01-07-10-10-16-17-18-14-20-24-22-28-28-31-35-39-45-48-52-53-63-70-75-X-37-22-26-32-35-38-69-X-56-> 39wks

In a close battle for the top spot, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa just miss out on the top spot at #03 with their huge #01 hit 'One Kiss' which went onto become a Summer anthem and the best selling single of 2018! It sounded like a winning combination on paper and it really was, a 90's/00's esque dance anthem with great sensual vocals from Dua. It was pretty much inescapable from last year, and rightfully so, it hasn't aged too well for me but it has its fans here!

This top ten is pretty much flawless, good work guys!

I'd prefer No Tears to win over Sweet But Psycho, it definitely feels the more defining hit of 2018 of the two

I'm very surprised Ariana only has one song in the top 3 after seeing so many people's votes having all 4 of her songs as their top 4 :lol: great to see 'no tears left to cry' as her highest though and I do hope it wins this, but that and 'Sweet But Psycho' are both among the best pop hits of the last few years (and of the whole decade in Ari's case) so that's a great top 2.

02 Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho 571pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 60-47-32-13-06-02-02-02-01-01-01-01-02-02-02-11-10-12-16-> 19wks (so far)

Just missing out on the top spot as the title of BuzzJack's Record Of The Year is the debut single from Ava Max in 'Sweet But Psycho' a Lady GaGa esque inspired pop hit that was huge at the end of the year and became somewhat inescapable! It's exactly what the charts needed, a feel good and unapologetic pop song filled with hooks and melody in a field where Hip Hop music is reigning supreme. It's undecided if she will remain a one hit wonder, she has recently released the follow up in 'So Am I' to a more of a lukewarm reception but what a killer debut single and one hit wonder if she is known by that title.!

01 Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry 777pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 02-02-03-03-03-04-05-05-05-23-29-35-35-32-40-47-45-X-35-41-43-46-50-55-71-71-74-X-59-> 27wks

It wasn't even close, Ariana Grande is BuzzJack's Record Of The Year with the stunning 'No Tears Left To Cry', her highly anticipated comeback single, especially after the tragic events that happened in Manchester prior to the release of this single. It is exactly what we wanted from Ariana, an emotive yet uplifting pop song full of melody and warmth, showing off her vocals perfectly. It's one of her best singles for me and everything I love about a pop song, it pains to see me that it was cruelly kept of the top spot by the fairly mediocre song by Calvin & Dua, and has gone on to get three #01's since! I suspect she will be in contention for the crown next year too.
