November 4, 200618 yr If the McDonald Brothers make the final 6 then Britain is going to be a laughing stock musically around the world We should get them to represent us at the Eurovision Song Contest. All joking aside. I think they are now picking up the "Michelle McManus/Chico" vote. In the same way that a large number of friends I knew voted for Michelle, because of her size & she did not look like a Pop Idol who could sell records - which got on Pete Waterman's nerves, I'm really starting to think that a large number of people are voting for the McDonald Brothers because they are so bad, they are entertaining.
November 4, 200618 yr If anybody could show energy and absolute raw passion when singing 'The Winner Takes It All' they must be one hell of a performer because personally I don't think it's possible. err...have you HEARD ABBA's Agnetha singing the original? It's positively drenched in pure, raw emotion - Christ, her recent ex-husband had written it for her to sing for God sake, listen to the lyrics.... it's one of the most raw, emotional performances I've ever heard - are you real? Ashley was good at what he did - but he was appalling tonight - totally off-key and he sang it with that weird accent of his that makes him sing everything like he's from Iceland.... He was great at the soulful numbers and in his auditions - but he's been way below par on the actual show - and not only did he forget his lyrics last week - he did exactly the same thing again tonight (although he bizarrely didn't get pulled up on it). He's absolutely gorgeous, though... so if he doesn't get signed up as a singer, I'm sure he could make a fortune modelling to be honest.
November 4, 200618 yr Tonight was an intresting show mainly because it showed how bad some of the acts are. Louis was pleading with Scotland to vote for the brothers he obviously doesn't want the rest of the UK to vote for them, it was their best preformance but that doesn't say much. Ray abosolotyly butchered Waterloo, I was expecting him to be bottom 2, if he wasn't simon's act them simon would of absolutly slaited him. Ben his worst preformance so far but i didn't expect him to do well this week glad he went through. Ben and Leona will make the final 2 no doubt.

I feel Nikitta may also get to the final but compared to those three, she's an outsider. Ben to win.
November 4, 200618 yr Does anyone know the theme for next week. I think I missed out they didn't annnounce it.

My mum's friends husband works in the music business so pretty much he knows about half way through the series who is going to win, like last year shayne was always in the top 3 of the votes so was very likely to win.
November 5, 200618 yr whenever I watch that horrible smug little boy Ray, I can't help thinking of the son in the Munsters - he's the spitting image of him.... he's so cocksure - REALLY dislikeable.

November 5, 200618 yr There's one Björn every minute DigitalSpy Review: Saturday, November 4 2006, 22:17 UTC - by Dek Hogan There’s been a fair bit of controversy among fans of the show over the theme weeks. I wasn’t entirely sure which act would benefit from a theme of ABBA so it was always going to be an interesting night. Let’s dish the dirt on this week’s performances: Nikitta - 'Dancing Queen' Dodgy last week and really bad this week, it was the sort of performance that does a disservice to those who failed to make the final twelve. Truly things could only get better after this start, the second time in two weeks that the show began badly. Eton Road - 'Does Your Mother Know' Described by Simon as “camp as a row of tents†this effort really showed what these boys can do after last week’s travesty of a performance. They really looked the real deal as a boy band and gave one of my least favourite ABBA songs a whole new lease of life. Storming. Robert - 'Take A Chance On Me' I think Robert’s superb and I can’t understand why he isn’t pulling the votes. His natural exuberance shone through once again and his voice is wonderfully smooth, though he still has that tendency to let his excitement corrupt the quality of his vocal. Leona - 'Chiquitita' I love Leona to bits and while I don’t think it’s possible for her to deliver a terrible rendition, this really wasn’t the right song for her. It’s a great song and she has a great voice but the two felt like oil and water when out together. Leona has set the bar incredibly high in previous weeks and needs to keep to that exacting standard if she is to become the first woman to win this. The MacDonald Brothers - 'Fernando' Please stop voting for them because week after week this is torture. If they were really bad at least that would be interesting but they are blander than bland. “Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally†went the lyric. It certainly did while listening to this dirge. Ray - 'Waterloo' I’m not Ray’s biggest fan by a long chalk but to give the guy credit he produced something pretty original with his swing version of the Eurovision classic. Playing it safe by staying in a comfortable style may be his best bet and tonight is the first time I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed his spot. Still not my cup of tea though. Ben - 'S.O.S.' That oil and water thing I mentioned with Leona was going on here in a big way. That said, he certainly gave it his all and Björn seemed to like it. Ashley - 'The Winner Takes It All' I suppose we could blame the song choice which took him out of his comfortable range, but that wasn’t the problem for me. This is a really emotional lyric which gives the singer every opportunity to sell the song to the audience. He didn’t even seem to try. Why should we care enough to vote for him when he doesn’t seem to give a damn? The Verdict Both Ashley and Robert struggled with their reprise performances but Louis made the right choice in sending Ashley home. Whether it’s the last we see of Ashley is debatable but I can’t help thinking he’s let a massive chance fall through his fingers because of the wrong attitude. Surely his mentor shouldn’t have allowed that to happen. Having video'd the show last night, & fast forwarded through it this morning, I have to say that I thought Nikitta & the MacDonald Brothers really should have been in the Bottom 2. However out of the two who were in the bottom two, I thought Ashley's passionless performance of a very emotional song more than justified Louis' decision to give him the boot.
November 5, 200618 yr Louis voted Ashley just to spite him  not that i liked Ashley though but i didnt think it was fair at all, obviously fixed voting that mcdonalds are still there just so Louis doesnt have just 1 act left
November 5, 200618 yr Louis Walsh just hasn't a clue what he's talking about. He says Ray doesn't deserve to be in the competition because he's just a one style pony. AND THIS COMING FROM THE MANAGER OF WESTLIFE who can only deliver bland ballad covers. Even if Ray is was a one style pony, at least he can do that style well unlike PESTLIFE. And what about his act THE MCDONALDS. Absolute garbage. They should have gone weeks ago. I don't side that much with Simon but I sure do in this case. For me the final should be between Leona & Ben. November 5, 200618 yr Whether we like them or not and I DETEST them the fact is that Westlife are the most successful group since The Beatles so Walsh knows what makes the pre pubescants who buy 99% of Westlife's records tick and its the same pre pubescants who make up 99% of phone voters too so love him or hate him Louis knows what sells records
November 6, 200618 yr Does anyone know the theme for next week. I think I missed out I'm sure I read somewhere it was Julio Englazyarse  Don't quote me though
November 9, 200618 yr I didnt think it was possible but I hate Louis Walsh even more now :puke2: The man is the most vile, sneeky little smug bast*rd on the planet :arrr: Why Simon pays him to be on the show is beyond me. Ashley has'nt been at his best for the past 2 weeks but any fool can see that he is one of the only acts that is different and would go onto have success. Louise picks Robert, who not in a million years could sell a huge amount of records. He clearly only did it to annoy Simon and then tellling simon he was such a bad Loser. What a sickening creature :puke2: The show is now one big joke. I expect the McDoogle Brothesr to win the bloody thing

I expect the McDoogle Brothesr to win the bloody thing  Ashley is a free agent, if any record company exec out there saw any talent in him I am sure they will sign him up to their label Chico was dumped early on last year and still got signed up and had a #1 single and so on, nothing out there is stopping anyone from signing up Ashley, I will be surprised if he gets a record deal though simply because I don't think he is good enough
November 9, 200618 yr I know what you mean but look at the likes of Maria from last year. She has flopped as far as I am aware and was far superior to most of the other acts but she went out early why? Because of the joke that is Louise Walsh <_< I do think Ashley is good enough. The first few weeks on the Xfactor he was brilliant, but the last two weeks did'nt suit him and his voice. tbh I don't think any of the acts are good enough except Ben and maybe Leona. Leona is far to like Mariah though and tends to over-sing everything. She is nothing new at all. Ben is the clear winner. Ethen Road are extremly overated imo <_<
November 9, 200618 yr Ben is by far the best contestant this year I would say I think it might do more harm than good for his career if he wins X Factor though as he will be stuck with Cowell and doing constant cover versions and cheesy ballads so it might be better if he loses X Factor and can do his own thing as an artist as he is a massive talent
