November 5, 200618 yr graham gouldman of 10cc had been a successful songwriter in the 60's for several top groups, including.... the yardbirds! i couldnt stand 10cc tbh! although as 'hotlegs' in 1970 did a great track 'neanderthal man'.
November 7, 200618 yr Thier new Greatest Hits not only includes Gouldmans hits with 10cc but him doing the songs he wrote for the Yardbirds, plus his hits with Hotlegs, Godley & Creme and Mindbenders. It looks like a good compilation TBH. A career retrospective bit like Wellers. Edited November 7, 200618 yr by fiesta

November 7, 200618 yr I always thought they sounded too well produced and too clever by half. Probably ahead of their time in that respect, they seemed like they put more effort into the production than the actual recording of the songs. I know some rock groups did that back then but it was unusual for a "pop" act.

November 8, 200618 yr That said, I loved "I'm Mandy Fly me". It was quite a good song... i liked 'im not in love' and 'life is a minestrone' at the time, but that was pre-punk and punk brought back the 'mod' (britpop) sound that is my fav... and in '75 there wasnt much choice for non glam/philly/rock n roll revival fans!
November 12, 200618 yr Author i liked 'im not in love' and 'life is a minestrone' the last one was playing in a shop the other day. couldnt decide if this was worst than the last feeling record
