Jordan McCoy is a 15 year old artist signed to Bad Boy Records. She claims that Fergie sold her the song Big Girls Don't Cry after finding it 'too childish', and gave it to her as a lead single, however, Jordan is now annoyed that Fergie has included the song on her album, leaving her, she claims, in effect without a lead single.

 

I'm not sure who recorded it first, the only comment on who did comes from, surprise surprise, Jordan McCoy herself so I'm not too keen to believe her - how would Fergie have known it was 'too childish' had she not recorded it?

 

Seeing as this controversy could end in a lawsuit, I'm going to leave you to decide for yourselves who is in the right, and, more importantly, which sounds better. Some of the text in this is biased towards Jordan, but the MySpace comment just shows how young and stupid she is - OF COURSE IT'S THE SAME SONG DUMBASS, SHE MADE THE SONG FIRST.

In my opinion Fergie's is far superior, her maturity and vocal abilities make it into a far better song, whereas Jordan turns it into a throwaway song that sounds ripped straight out of a Hilary Duff album -_-

Jordan's version does sound Hilary Duff - esque...which is never a bad thing :) But Jordan's voice is kind of whiny and anoying and because of that, younger sounding than Fergie's. Which actually suites the song more. But I prefure the more melow production in Fergie's version. Jordan's is just typical bratty pop rock
