Seems mad that Talk is only just peaking now. I know we aren’t really a representation of when the general public pick up music, but feels like it’s peak impact has been and went.

It's only peaking now because his album came out yesterday. It was on the decline last week.

And I imagine Blackpink should easily make the official chart due to their big video streams (and the fact their last single made it and that was before video streams counted). Maybe not top 40 but at least top 75.

Old town road is over 4 millions in the US now with the 2 versions combined, old version at #1 new version at #3, never seen anything like that

Blackpink are not that high in the US either, must be very high in Asia and that makes them high globally

Drake and J Cole album tracks have reached 4m+ in the past. Plus the fact that Old Town Road is 2 seconds long means that it will obviously get more streams.

There have been loads of songs with 4M in the US, even Middle Child by J. Cole got close. This time it's just divided between two versions.

Edit: Basically what Cqmrqn said

Edited by SKOB

meant that I never seen 2 versions of the same track in the top 3

sure Drake can get all the streams he wants

you said it

not in the top 3

Khalid is kinda underperforming.. def not going #1 on albums, probably #3 at best.

Once again an artist performing in line with if not better than they've always done on UK Spotify is said to be 'underperforming'. 'Talk' at #10 today matches the highest position he's ever got as lead artist on UK Spotify (lower than 'Eastside'/'Silence'/'1-800-273-8255' but he was hardly the selling point of any of those). He's really not that huge a name, 'American Teen' never even made the top 40 here (admittedly it was very slow-burning but that's still not too high a bar) and even 'Suncity', released when he was already a known name, only got to #20. Why would he suddenly now be expected to get a #1 album and completely dominate Spotify when the lead singles have done nothing to indicate he's suddenly a much bigger deal?

In other news, 'Old Town Road' coming to be the highest charting country song since...? '(Barry) Islands In The Stream' I guess?

Could really do without 'My Bad' becoming a hit, it's the most bland thing he's released to date and that's really saying something when he already released 'Saturday Nights'. I can't say I am thrilled at the prospect of a collab between Khalid and John Mayer either...
next #1 is gonna be Billie next Friday ;) doing 100k more per day than Lewis on Spotify

this is the 1st week that Lewis has a decrease in streams since he's #1

and even that was a tiny decrease, not sure if it was bigger or smaller than the market

Does the market value include excluded tracks? I feel like Billie's album would have a big sway to one way or the other depending on it.

Duh, country queen Bebe & her boys Florida Georgia Line :kink:
