In fact, Jones (born Timucin Aluo in 1987) was a cowriter and producer on the song, whose No. 1 position marked his auspicious debut. Raised in London by a Turkish father, a Malaysian mother and a Nigerian stepfather, Jones grew up on a mix of American hip-hop, UK dance and African music, which might help to explain the mix of styles that swirls through his music: His youthful fondness for Prince shows through in funk-infused cuts like 2015’s “Ocean Drive”, while Afro-Caribbean accents bubble up in 2018’s “Ring Ring,” a lilting tropical-house jam. Though his beats generally follow the punchy cadence of deep-diving future house, he brings a hip-hop producer’s collage sensibility to the mixing desk: Many of his productions slyly interpolate other songs. “You Don’t Know Me”, from 2017, is built around the slinky hook of M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade’s 2005 anthem “Body Language”, while “I Got U” contains a choice bit of Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love”. Whether on his own productions or his remixes for Ellie Goulding, Charlie XCX and Missy Elliott, Jones’ habitual blend of pop polish and house groove is unmistakable. In conversation with Beats 1’s Julie Adenuga, he spoke about his unique relationship to dance music. “I just thought I'd try it,” he said. “House is a collage of everything the creator is. If you love hip-hop, you can chuck that in there. If you love rock, you can chuck that in there too. It took a long time, but now it makes a lot of sense. It’s sample-based and also musical, so it's a very natural fit. Life is beautiful like that. They say you have to, like, get rid of yourself to go to the next level. And I think that’s what happened.” - iTunes Martin Solveig Though he grew up singing in the church choir and studying classical music, by age 13 French DJ Martin Solveig (born Martin Picandet) had his first pair of turntables and was showing off his skills to his friends. At 18, while working in a local record store, he further discovered the complexity of electronic music, and shortly thereafter was spinning at some of the most prestigious clubs in Paris. In 2001, Solveig worked with Bob Sinclar on Africanism, contributing his track "Edony" to the album. The single went on to be a hit, and after graduating from college, the DJ decided to release a full-length record. Sur la Terre -- which came out in 2002 on his own label, Mixture, and was made using both live and electronic instrumentation -- was also inspired by African rhythms, leading to a remix of Malian singer Salif Keita's song "Malan." In 2004 Solveig decided to move toward American funk and rock, releasing "Rocking Music," sung by Jay Sebag, followed by another full-length, Hedonist, in 2005. A third album, C'est la Vie, was issued in 2008, but it was only with his fourth effort, 2011's aptly titled Smash, that he finally broke through into the mainstream. Home to a number of singles featuring Dragonette, Smash included Solveig's chart-topping hit song "Hello" with the Canadian band, the success of which attracted the interest of Madonna. The singer chose him to work on her album MDNA, and the pair developed a mutual respect and a close working relationship in the studio. Post-MDNA, Solveig continued collaborating, releasing The Night Out EP in 2012; the 2013 single "Hey Now" with the Cataracs, and "Blow" featuring Laidback Luke in 2014. In 2015, Solveig returned with "Intoxicated" with the production duo GTA, as well as the house music-infused "+1," with vocals by Sam White. "Do It Right" with Tkay Maidza and "Places" with Ina Wroldsen arrived the next year, with the Alma-featuring "All Stars" landing in 2017. - iTunes Madison Beer Known for her effervescence, Madison Beer is a pop singer and actress from Long Island, New York. A music lover and experimenter from an early age, Beer started posting YouTube videos of herself singing covers of varied well-known songs as a 13-year-old in 2012. That summer, pop idol Justin Bieber came across her version of Etta James' "At Last" and shared it with his over 25 million Twitter followers. The resulting media coverage led to a record deal with Island Records and a management deal with Bieber's manager the following year. Around that time, she was also cast in a small role in the independent film Louder Than Words, which starred David Duchovny and made its film festival premiere late in 2013. Her debut single, the poppy, melismatic "Melodies," also appeared late that year, and was followed by "Unbreakable" in 2014. Her vocals have appeared on other artists' songs, including Cody Simpson's "Valentine" and the 2015 club track "I Won't Let You Walk Away" by Mako. Beer delivered the moody breakup single "Dead" in May 2017, followed in November by "Say It to My Face." Both songs were later included on her debut EP, 2018's As She Pleases, which also spawned the single "Home." The album cracked the Top 90 of the Billboard 200. That same year, she issued the non-album single "Hurts Like Hell," featuring Offset. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Jax Jones 2014 01 I Got U (Duke Dumont feat. Emerging in the late 2010s, she appeared on collaborations with Le Youth, Witt Lowry, and David Guetta while also releasing her own singles, including the hit "Sweet But Psycho," which topped the charts in Sweden. Born Amanda Ava Koci in Wisconsin, she was raised by Albanian immigrant parents in Virginia. She started singing at a young age and was already active in singing competitions by the time she reached high school. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time, she joined local disco revival producer Le Youth on his bright dance track "Clap Your Hands," which became a summer hit in 2017. The next year, she showcased her Sia-esque vocals with debut solo single "My Way" (Atlantic) before following with "Slippin" and "Not Your Barbie Girl," which interpolated Aqua's '90s classic. That year, she also joined rapper Witt Lowry on his track "Into Your Arms" and David Guetta on "Let It Be Me" from his album 7. Koci scored her biggest hit to date that summer with "Sweet But Psycho," an addictive pop gem produced by Cirkut (the Weeknd, Katy Perry, Rihanna). Charting across Europe, it hit number one in Sweden and topped 30 million streams. That fall, she signed with Full Stop Management, home to Charli XCX, Harry Styles, HAIM, and others. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2018 01 Sweet But Psycho -1- MILLIONAIRE 2019 13 So Am I -2- _______________________________________________________________ Social Media Ava Max http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12 | 17 | 10th week Wiley, Stefflon Don and Sean Paul featuring Idris Elba Boasty 1st single from thirteenth studio album Released: 22nd January 2019 Label: Wiley Chart Statistics NE (07/02/2019) | 79-88-90-x RE (21/03/2019) | 33-22-11-11-13-17-12 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 07 Sales 21 Audio Streaming 02 Video Streaming Video huaE85-V8u4 Biography Quite possibly the key player in U.K. grime -- though he called his knotty, brittle style "eski" or "eskibeat" -- producer and MC Wiley (born Richard Cowie) came up as a member of Pay as U Go Cartel, and was later a founding member of Roll Deep Crew. Much of his best and most crucial early work as a producer trickled out as white-label vinyl releases and free downloads. After Treddin' on Thin Ice (XL, 2004) and Playtime Is Over (Big Dada, 2007), a pair of strong albums, Wiley made a controversial crossover move with his third proper album, See Clear Now (Asylum, 2008). Released on a major label, it had a considerably larger recording budget than his previous output and featured production input from Mark Ronson and Arthur Baker, among others. The bouncy single "Wearing My Rolex" reached number two on the U.K. singles chart. In addition to being prolific as a producer and solo artist, Wiley continued to assist the careers of producers and MCs younger than him, including onetime Roll Deep partner Dizzee Rascal. He reached the Top Ten again as a featured artist on Naughty Boy's "Never Be Your Woman," and continued to lengthen his reach by setting up the A-List label for the development of upcoming talent, as well as Elusive Entertainment, where he issued Chill Out Zone (2011). He returned to Big Dada for 100% Publishing (also 2011), along with Evolve or Be Extinct (2012). He moved back into the major-label system for The Ascent (Warner Music, 2013), the release of which was teased with the fizzy "Heatwave," a number one U.K. hit. Three additional singles from the album reached the Top Ten. Life Is a Game of Snakes & Ladders (Big Dada, 2014), featuring the eskibeat throwback "On a Level," didn't fare nearly as well commercially. Mixtapes, an EP, and a stream of stray tracks all reached the public in the mid-2010s. After the release of Snakes & Ladders, Wiley appeared to go quiet for a couple of years. In 2016, he returned in a big way; he announced his 11th studio album, Godfather, as well as his autobiography, in addition to plans to release a feature-length autobiographical film. Godfather was delayed numerous times and was even scrapped at one point, but it finally arrived in January of 2017. Eskiboy, Wiley's autobiography, was released the following November, as the MC/producer released the single "I Call the Shots," featuring JME. Its parent full-length, Godfather II, followed in 2018. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Wiley 2004 31 Wot Do U Call It? -1- 2004 45 Pies -2- 2008 02 Wearing My Rolex -1- 2008 45 Summertime -2- 2008 18 Cash In My Pocket (feat. Growing up, Dave was inspired to pursue art in some form. Taking cues from his older brothers, he initially tried his hand at animation before moving on to piano before finally settling on becoming a fully-fledged grime MC; unfortunately, his brothers would end up serving lengthy prison sentences. To cope with the drastic alteration to their lives, Dave burrowed even deeper into his music, causing him to develop a socially aware form of wordplay that set him apart from his peers. Despite starting to write bars around the age of ten, it was six years later that Dave would make his first appearance, freestyling on an underground grime channel, Bl@ckbox, in 2015. In January of the following year Dave returned with his first music video/single "JKYL+HYD," cementing his reputation for deep subject matter and ambitious lyrics. In the following months, Dave delivered two key freestyles on BBC Radio 1. The first was on Semtex's 1Xtra show and the second on Charlie Sloth's Fire in the Booth. A number of singles followed, including a standout collaboration with West London's own rising star, AJ Tracey, on "Thiago Silva." By September Dave was ready to drop his first EP, Six Paths. The release was a success in its own right, but gained even more attention when Canadian rapper Drake remixed the single "Wanna Know," bringing Dave's sound to an American audience. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Dave 2017 51 Wanna Know (feat. About a year later, he proved them right. A military kid, Robinson split his childhood between Georgia, Kentucky, upstate New York, and Heidelberg, Germany, eventually settling in El Paso, Texas—a pattern of dislocation that often made him feel like an outsider. Self-described as “an awkward teen,” he picked up songwriting primarily to stave off loneliness, sharing music through SoundCloud and quickly catching the ears of both his peers and the industry. (His breakout single, 2016’s “Location,” was recorded during spring break of his senior year; a few weeks after it came out, he won Prom King; within a couple of years, the song had sold more than five million copies in the U.S. alone.) In 2017, he released American Teen, a celebratory but bittersweet mix of synth-pop and neon-lit R&B that garnered five Grammy nominations—proof that you’re rarely an outsider alone. In between, Robinson featured on high-profile collaborations with Logic (“1-800-273-8255”), Calvin Harris (“Rollin”), and Normani (“Love Lies”), among others. An EP, Suncity, arrived in late 2018, opening with audio of Khalid being given keys to the city of El Paso—not bad for a kid who’d moved there only a few years before. Reflecting on his evolution from spectator to artist for Apple Music’s Up Next series, Robinson said, “I would sit in this apartment, I would look at the mountain behind me, I would watch all the lightning, and I would listen to music. I was like, ‘You know what? I need something to help me a little bit more.’” So he took it on himself and started to write. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2017 43 Rollin (Calvin Harris feat. But given the way his music has resonated, he’s clearly the pop star we needed. He got his start with an equally unlikely fusion of tough-as-nails trap and candied EDM, and as early fans debated his identity, a co-sign from Skrillex gave singles like 2015’s trance-laced “Find Me” a viral boost. On Marshmello’s debut album, 2016’s Joytime, his signature qualities began to come into focus—the wistful vibes of “Summer,” the playful melodies of “Blocks,” the chilled-out cool of “Keep It Mello,” featuring deliciously laidback rapping from Omar LinX—but it was the nostalgic “Alone,” with its twin nods to 2000s emo and 1980s electro-pop, that solidified his persona. (“Alone” also kicked off a string of clever coming-of-age-themed videos that reinforced his essential relatability.) Since then, Marshmello has gone from an EDM curiosity to a ubiquitous fixture in pop, using collaborations with artists like Selena Gomez and Logic to further his singular brand of fun. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Marshmello 2017 03 Silence (feat. Formed in 2005, they gained popularity from their appearances on the Disney Channel television network. They consist of three brothers: Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas. Raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the Jonas Brothers moved to Little Falls, New Jersey in 2005, where they wrote their first record that made its Hollywood release. In the summer of 2008, they starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. They also starred as Kevin, Joe, and Nick Lucas, the band Lucas in their own Disney Channel series Jonas, which was rebranded as Jonas L.A. after the first season and cancelled after the second. The band released four albums: It's About Time (2006), Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), and Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009). In 2008, the group was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 51st Grammy Awards and won the award for Breakthrough Artist at the American Music Awards. As of May 2009, before the release of Lines, Vines and Trying Times, they had sold over eight million albums worldwide. After a hiatus during 2010 and 2011 to pursue solo-projects, the group reconciled in 2012 to record a new album, which was cancelled following their break-up on October 29, 2013. They have sold over 17 million albums worldwide. Sweden’s Tim Bergling, did more for the commingling of dance music with other genres than anyone before him. He essentially reenvisioned EDM as a place where booming 4/4 beats and neon synths could be worked into the songwriting structures of soul, bluegrass, and country—and end up not sounding like EDM at all. Once you got over the initial shock, the uplifting melodies made it all feel pretty natural. Before his suicide in 2018, Avicii had completed roughly 75 to 80 percent of the tracks that will make up his forthcoming posthumous LP, Tim, overseen by producers and songwriters Carl Falk, Albin Nedler, and Kristoffer Fogelmark. Its first single, “SOS,” moves in a similar direction as the folksy vibe of 2017’s Avīci (01) EP. It’s a dance-pop tune, sure—with gentle nods to Balearic beat and a bit of New Wave—but its laid-back ’80s soft-rock rhythm and rich vocals from Aloe Blacc, who helped announce Bergling’s arrival on 2013’s “Wake Me Up,” give it that unique Avicii touch, pulling from a manner of styles but still hewing to something you can spend a night on a beach dancing to. Then there’s the lyrics, which recount someone trading their drugs for the euphoric promise of a new love, and which open with a shot that invites all kinds of interpretation: “Can you hear me?/S.O.S./Help me put my mind to rest.” - iTunes Chart Statistics NE (25/04/2019) | 12-6 Sales: - Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 07 Sales 17 Audio Streaming 66 Video Streaming Video u8tdT5pAE34 Biography Tim Bergling (Swedish: [tɪm ²bærjlɪŋ]; 8 September 1989 – 20 April 2018), known professionally as Avicii (/əˈviːtʃi/, Swedish: [aˈvɪtːɕɪ]), was a Swedish music programmer, DJ, remixer and record producer. At the age of 16, Bergling began posting his remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his single "Levels". His debut studio album, True (2013), blended electronic music with elements of multiple genres and received generally positive reviews. It peaked in the top ten in more than fifteen countries and topped international dance charts; the lead single, "Wake Me Up", topped most music markets in Europe and reached number four in the United States. In 2015, Bergling released his second studio album, Stories, and in 2017 he released an EP, Avīci (01). His catalogue also included the singles "I Could Be the One" with Nicky Romero, "You Make Me", "X You", "Hey Brother", "Addicted to You", "The Days", "The Nights", "Waiting for Love", "Without You" and "Lonely Together". Bergling was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on "Sunshine" with David Guetta in 2012 and "Levels" in 2013. Several music publications credit Bergling as among the DJs who ushered electronic music into Top 40 radio in the early 2010s. Bergling retired from touring in 2016 due to health problems, having suffered stress and poor mental health for several years. On 20 April 2018, Bergling committed suicide in Muscat, Oman. He was buried on 8 June in his hometown of Stockholm. - Wikipedia _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Avicii 2010 13 Seek Bromance (Tim Berg) -NAS- 2010 46 My Feelings For You (Avicii & Sebastien Drums) -1- 2011 04 Collide (Leona Lewis & Avicii) 2011 04 Levels -NAS- 2012 22 Silhouettes -NAS- 2012 49 Superlove (Avicii vs. Lenny Kravitz) -NAS- 2013 01 I Could Be The One (Avicii vs. Nicky Romero) -NAS- 2013 47 X You -NAS- 2013 01 Wake Me Up -1- MILLION SELLER 2013 05 You Make Me -2- 2013 02 Hey Brother -3- MILLIONAIRE 2014 14 Addicted To You -4- 2014 82 The Days -NAS- 2015 06 The Nights -1- 2015 06 Waiting For Love -2- 2015 68 For A Better Day -3- 2017 32 Without You (feat. Born in Scotland and raised in Manchester, England, Walker grew up listening to Ray Charles, the Police, and Bob Marley from his father's record collection, and taught himself how to play drums, guitar, piano, and bass. After studying songwriting at London's College of Contemporary Music, Walker began making music in earnest, collaborating with his housemates -- who included members of Whilk & Misky -- in their home studio. One of his songs, 2016's "Sun Goes Down," interpolated the '30s work song "I'll Be So Glad When the Sun Goes Down" and featured poet/musician Kojey Radical. The track earned acclaim and airplay on Radio 1, and Walker signed to Relentless soon after. His official debut single, "Fly Away with Me," arrived later that year. The Blessings EP was released in April 2017, along with a pair of singles, "Heartland" and "Leave a Light On." Walker started working with producer Mike Spencer on his debut album soon after, putting together 12 tracks of impeccably produced soulful, contemporary pop. Preceded by the singles "My Way" and "Angels," the album What a Time to Be Alive -- which took its title from the track "Blessings" -- was issued in late 2018. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2018 07 Leave A Light On -1- 2018 80 Walk Alone (Rudimental feat.
