MJ to perform at WMA :yahoo:

According to USA Today, Michael Jackson will perform live when accepting the Diamond Award at the 2006 World Music Awards. They write that Jackson's costume will be designed by Roberto Cavalli, who supposedly visited Jackson monday.

The official World Music Awards website, also lists Jackson under performers. :)

BE afraid, be very afraid . . . MICHAEL JACKSON is heading to Britain to make his live comeback.

The pop weirdo has agreed to perform at the World Music Awards at London’s Earls Court next week.

If Jacko was at the top of his game, this would be brilliant.

But he looks dreadful and hasn’t performed for years — I fear it’s going to be a humiliating freak show which he will regret.

Jacko will be presented with the Chopard Diamond Award for artists who have sold more than 100million records.

And, since the 25th anniversary of his Thriller album is coming up, he has told organisers he will recreate the famous graveyard video with an army of dancers.

MICHAEL Jackson’s Thriller lyrics are certainly apt:

“It’s close to midnight and something evil’s lurking in the dark

“Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart

“You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it

“You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes

“You’re paralyzed.â€

The awards, next Wednesday, will be Jacko’s first public performance — and only his second public appearance — since he was dragged through the courts before being cleared of child abuse charges last year.

He turned up to accept an award at the MTV Video Music Awards in Tokyo in May. But apart from his jaunt to Japan, the Beat It singer has spent most of the time holed up in Bahrain and Ireland.

Now he will make his way over to the UK for rehearsals early next week.

I can’t wait to see what he looks like — his plastic face just gets stranger each time he’s spotted. We all hope Jacko will blow us away with a scintillating show like in the good old days.

But I fear it could be more of a circus act than anything else.

Last night a spokesman for the awards told me: “Jackson has definitely told organisers he will be performing. His dancers have already started rehearsals.

“He will close the show with Thriller, a complete recreation of the video.â€

Even without Jacko’s performance the awards show is shaping up to be special.

LINDSAY LOHAN will host and there are confirmed appearances from BEYONCE, MARY J BLIGE, FAITHLESS and USHER. KATIE MELUA, ANDREA BOCELLI, ENYA, DIANA ROSS, GWEN STEFANI and NELLY FURTADO will also be there.

I’m also calling on JARVIS COCKER to invade the stage and embarrass the US legend like he did at the Brit Awards back in 1996.

Come on, Jarvis, your country needs you.

 serves the b!tch right :smoke:

and hes performing Thriller! :yahoo:

Great News! :cheer:! Cant Wait, this is where he needs to say, I'M BACK B)

Wacko Jacko is back in toon

DRAWN Michael Jackson looks more animated than usual as he arrives in Britain — thanks to his T-shirt displaying cartoon mutt Pluto.

Jacko, 48, was in London last night as he prepared for his first UK performance in a decade.

He will recreate his Thriller video with dancers at the World Music Awards in Earls Court on Wednesday.

The last time he sang here was at the 1996 Brit Awards when Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker mocked his rendition of Earth Song.

Jacko — cleared of child abuse charges last year — tried in vain to dodge snappers outside his hotel in Bayswater by using a decoy.

:yahoo: looking forward to this now :D when is it?
I hope he does as well, but he may get harassed by the press so i doubt he will
