May 18, 20196 yr I preferred Italy but The Netherlands is definitely a worthy winner, so glad it wasn't Sweden. Oh and I'm still in shock the UK came last during the year of Brexit. LOL! Ironic that The Netherlands was going to leave too until they saw the reaction to us leaving. OH the irony. Cyprus didn't fair as well as I'd hope, but it is too similar to Fuego so I get it. Yeah, just going to jump on your post to say: let's not have the B-word in here please, I know you weren't saying it yourself but it's irrelevant to our result and I know Adam and Lex don't want any tiresome takes from anyone else who might try to claim it's part of it.
May 18, 20196 yr I'd have loved Norway to win but knew they wudnt but least they won the public vote and finished top 5.
May 18, 20196 yr I'll probably attend in person for the first time next year since the Netherlands is so accessible with the Eurostar :D
May 18, 20196 yr Author I have to say I'm delighted Mahmood finished second but also it's quite gutting that he was only 28 points off winning, you didn't get the sense he was close to Duncan because of that televote reveal. I really hope they go back to how they did the televotes beforehand next year. Congratulations to The Netherlands though, a thoroughly deserved winner, and the second winner to not win either the jury or the televoting!
May 18, 20196 yr I was more worried Iceland winning the public vote. Iceland partly fell flat in both public and juries.
May 18, 20196 yr And I loved when Greece and Cyprus gave each other 12 points, I saw that coming
May 18, 20196 yr Predictable but decent winner in the end, nothing to get excited over but nothing to dislike either. Harsh for Sweden at the end and not even a top 5 result :( Miki last on the jury was very harsh also, but at least the public showed him a little more love. Serhat top 20!!! *.*
May 18, 20196 yr oof Amsterdam was already crowded enough during World Cup season, imagine Eurovision
May 18, 20196 yr And I loved when Greece and Cyprus gave each other 12 points, I saw that coming  I find it so cute!!
May 18, 20196 yr Yeah, just going to jump on your post to say: let's not have the B-word in here please, I know you weren't saying it yourself but it's irrelevant to our result and I know Adam and Lex don't want any tiresome takes from anyone else who might try to claim as such. I've had to try and explain the same to my lot here tonight. We didn't finish last because of Brexit, it's because our song and performance wasn't good enough. I don't feel it was the worst, and the UK certainly suffers a penalty for "you're the UK, you have a strong music scene and then expect us to accept THAT", but it wasn't exactly great was it? It wasn't last on televotes. Germany was. They somehow managed jury scores, lol. Malta and Norway the most robbed tonight, but so happy for North Macedonia to have had all that excitement for once. A great vocal performance, I actually was feeling emotional for them. Netherlands is a deserved winner. Switzerland deserved better, I'm a bit surprised tbh by the scores, and Iceland I thought would score more in the televotes. Italy 2nd is absolutely absurd after that abysmal performance. I really don't get that. It was my 4th favourite leading into the final. Sweden's final score also shocked me, the song deserved more and I thought they'd won it with all the 200-ish point scores given out given Portugal got to 700+ in total in the end. Brexit calls on our score is bullshit, but it's quite possible the Sweden score was downed by a bit of European racism. He and the Mama's performed 100x better than the semis.
