July 10, 20195 yr I always thought Kian has a good vocal, he definitely deserves more lines. As for Nicky, he is ok when there is a song that fits his ability. However, its not surprising he didn't get better control as he only sang during the Eurovision and he never promoted or toured with his album. He could have practiced home of course but he had a steady job and a family so its not surprising if he never bothered to get better. Considering they were cought using playback during the acoustic set, I wonder if they sing the Queen medley live. I am not sure but I also had a feeling Kian mimed during Dynamite performances at Croke Park. I might be wrong of course. Kian definitely seemed to mime the performance of Queen of My Heart they did on the TV special they did in 2011 ("For The Last Time"). I suppose there are cases when they would need to use playback but it seems to be most times, it's almost as though they don't trust them to nail the vocal. To be fair, Kian's solo in Hello My Love when they performed it on All Round to Mrs Brown's was very off-key. Where did they use playback during the acoustic set? I've seen a few clips but I don't think I've seen that one.
July 10, 20195 yr Author Producer and record label choice. Because THE Bryan Mcfaded is the best bass vocalist of the group that is why some wants him back but they need to know the history of the band, he left and lied to them so we don't need him
July 10, 20195 yr Where did they use playback during the acoustic set? I've seen a few clips but I don't think I've seen that one. Here is the link, at 6:50: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrpmKs07lRg...eature=youtu.be
July 10, 20195 yr Here is the link, at 6:50: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrpmKs07lRg...eature=youtu.be its kind of strange that knows he is miming and he pointing the mic to the crowd. maybe it is not happening on all songs maybe he is just out of his mind... Anyway those are easy lines even I could sing them, i wonder how come they playback them..
July 10, 20195 yr Here is the link, at 6:50: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrpmKs07lRg...eature=youtu.be I see. I don't know why they used playback on an acoustic set, it's not like that's out of his range at all. Maybe it's a label thing but I find it unusual - maybe I don't know enough about the inner workings of the music industry.
July 10, 20195 yr The video is done, I guess they didn't have time during the tour. Hopefully its not just a concert version, that they will use the footage they already shot: https://www.instagram.com/p/BzvayObnt1s/ Edited July 10, 20195 yr by zeze88

July 11, 20195 yr Is it true that all of their albums are back in the top 100 of the Irish Albums Chart update this week? From https://escxtra.com/2019/07/10/westlifes-gr...-at-croke-park/ THey would report the same thing even if a few were missing so that's my guess. THey were streamed a lot in Ireland during the weekend, I expect that all their songs were streamed more than 600k in total during the weekend only. Now i am not sure they stand a chance for #1 cause they are free falling. Anyway let them take a break now and continue towards the Asia leg, it looked like they are so loved by people there in Ireland so we are happy about it..
July 11, 20195 yr Author BIG-earning Westlife will take home as much as €6million each from their recent Irish and UK dates. Industry sources estimate the reformed boyband’s Twenty Tour grossed in the region of €70million from the shows, which included two huge gigs to 160,000 punters in Dublin’s Croke Park last weekend But they don’t get to keep all the dough and, after paying promoters, venues and their crew of 200, Westlife are left with half of that amount to split between their manager and themselves. An industry insider told the Irish Sun: “The average ticket price on Westlife’s tour was between €77 and €100 and they were selling out arenas all over the UK. “The members made an astonishing amount of money from the reunion already before you consider the money they’ll make from the Asian dates on their comeback tour.” Westlife invested heavily in coming up with a jaw-dropping comeback concert for fans. Acrobats from Cirque du Soleil and an array of lasers featured among their huge stage production, which travelled from gig-to-gig in nine articulated trucks. They also filmed every one of their concerts in the UK and Ireland, with the Croke Park shows to be released on DVD next October — a month before their new album Spectrum comes out. Our insider added: “Westlife had an outside broadcast unit for all the dates with four cameras catching all the action. The tour film will be a huge seller.” Music business insiders admit they are astonished at the huge haul of cash brought in by Westlife on their comeback dates. BANKRUPT A source said: “Having been away for seven years people wondered how well Westlife would do? But ticket sales went through the roof. “The demand was such because Westlife’s original fans are now grown-up mums and dads, and they brought their kids to all the concerts.” Last Saturday, Shane celebrated his 40th birthday party after the Croker gig — a far happier occasion than when they last headlined the GAA stadium in 2012. The Sligo man had only €470 in his bank account five days after the event, after a property development company he owned with his brother Finbarr collapsed during the economic crash. That year he was famously declared bankrupt with debts of €23million. And despite Shane, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Mark Feehily now being flush to the tune of €6million each from their comeback, those working behind the scenes don’t begrudge them. One insider told us: “Everyone knows the lads went through some tough times money-wise when Westlife split the first time, particularly Shane, so people were delighted he celebrated his 40th birthday last week playing Croke Park again.” They added: “Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian have never acted like prima donnas either — either when they were at the height of their success or on this comeback.” We revealed last weekend that Westlife are to tour again next year but will play even bigger stadiums. “They are off in Asia now for the next few months but once they come back in September, you can expect announcements about more Westlife dates next year.”
July 11, 20195 yr Author No surprise for the stadium tour with the effect that they have on their albums from their Croke gigs and less time consuming Well this is true.. even with those covers. Simon knows at the end of the day most people will remember Westlife with their original hits and luckily on streaming, people remember them with their upbeat songs. Covers are there just for them to survive and have that longevity like ABBA and Beatles because there were more popular choices at that time and much more choices now than in the 60s or 70s. I remember before that someone said that bad karma will get them by releasing covers after covers. I guess it is good karma that is coming in for them now. “I had 13 years. I love Simon. Simon’s the best person in the world. I love working with him. “I used to work with him everyday. The reason Westlife are here is because of Simon. He started this band. He gave us all the hits. He was an amazing A & R guy. Nobody better than him. “I’m saying why isn’t he a Sir. I want him to be Sir Simon. We’re starting a campaign for a knighthood. He thinks he’s royalty already, so it’s fine.” It’s hard to argue with Louis’s assertion that Simon has made lots of people plenty of money. He continues: “The thing about Simon is he’s made more people millionaires than the Lottery. He doesn’t get enough credit for it and he’s great fun.” Watching Louis behind the scenes of the iconic Dublin stadium, it is clear to see he is in his element as he counts down until Westlife take to the stage in front of 80,000 adoring fans. There has been a buzz in the city all day as excitable faces, both young and old, walk the streets covered in glitter and dressed in band T-shirts. It’s something many modern day acts could only hope to experience, and Louis is all too aware it’s a rare feat. He enthuses: “80 thousand people here and 80 thousand tomorrow. It’s f*****g incredible. We could have done three nights. “Nobody does this, nobody. Nobody does figures like this. “I think they’re a better band, and they’re modern day Westlife. They’re not relying on the old hits they want new hits. It’s a whole new chapter. I think they’re in a better place and very focused on what they want to do. They don’t want to be a comeback band.” Edited July 11, 20195 yr by myxxd
July 11, 20195 yr Author Spectrum has been pushed back again https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JJ3X6QD/?col...lv_ov_lig_dp_it New date..25 Dec 2020. Presume it's an error? Also maybe they are doing this so some will go Apple music and their official site that have an earlier release date and will have the tendency to buy and stream on those more important album pre order links. They are doing another tactic on the tour. some have multiple purchases now of the album because of the meet and greet competition on their arena tour that will let you buy the album first Edited July 11, 20195 yr by myxxd
July 11, 20195 yr Author There will be a fourth single. Mark said it before. Maybe they are reserving bigger promotional funds towards the end of the year, the time of the year with bigger sales most likely. Charis I know what you are thinking. they cannot replicate those consecutive number ones in this era. nobody does that anymore especially on streaming era. They are lucky they did it when they debuted in the sales era Big artists now have low chart positions as well. Also charis Coldplay and Take That have flop UK singles as well and they are one of those big album selling bands in the UK. They want and have chosen the option of having a chart run more inside the top 40 that will attract more streamers now than most of their old hits and style that went to 1-10-40-out Their last third UK single was way back in 2006 with Amazing and it had a music video and physical releases and it peaked at #4 as well. I guess this is just a natural occasion. Actually it is somehow surprising they are doing well on downloads because it kinda fcked up Shane, Mark, Nicky and Kian's solo career chartings. I guess the older music fans have cope up with the losing popularity of physical releases Edited July 11, 20195 yr by myxxd
July 11, 20195 yr looks like this album should have #1 all over it by the pre orders of now... it was set for preordering for tour presale 1 year in advance, it was also promoted during the last few singles and they have the meet and greet in the whole UK/Ireland tour... not to mention further single releases and TV appearances and rest of the sales in the releasing week. it feels anything else is a failure..
July 11, 20195 yr Author #1 where? The release date is still on November. And as you said this will be on pre orders for over a year which is not normal and they never did this before and can you feel and see that they panic or get anxious when they talk about the album? This is for the building up of sales and streaming, the label knows from the start they will have a hard time on streaming. just trust them Edited July 11, 20195 yr by myxxd

This is for the building up of sales and streaming, the label knows from the start they will have a hard time on streaming. just trust them #1 when it gets released.... streaming has a very small impact on albums chart, you can't get more than 5-10k sales from streams in a week, and you need 30-40k to reach safely the #1... this was on presale for 12 months and will deffinitely get a tv promo and signings... so yes anything other than a #1 might be a disappointment..
