I'm glad it has a new thread and like i said in the other thread..great video but the boxer is really ugly... i also commented on it being dutch TMF and how weird that little box thing at the bottom is and how dutch looks to be like a mix of german and english.. thats all lol!

thanks Alex aka $ktofi!! i really like it! its very subtle, shakira looks very glamourous but its not in your face "look at me i'm so stunning" she pulls off the ol skool hollywood 40s look with ease and she is classy with it, but its all abouut the second verse for me they way she smiles and leans back on the ropes then starts strutting omg the woman is such a beauty, so much presence on screen!!! overall a strong video and it makes you want to watch it/her again the public will love it!!!

I liked it :) It's not as good as I thought it would be - the best bits are the bit where she's in the ring and the end when she "heals his wounds" and then walks through the crowd. Otherwise thee's too many close ups IMO...

I've added the HQ because I'm having a sleepless night and have nothing better to do :lol:

 

The video is great actually. There's just a few edits towards the start which I find a bit dodgy, but I always find Juame's editing dodgy - just being picky :)

I am loving this song and video now :wub: and VIVA :wub: :wub: :wub: It is a music channel in germany that can only be described as ace, they have this presenter i can't spell her name but it begins with G haha and she presents almost every show lol but she is good :P

hmmm interesting, i think she is the other woman but she thinks he is single so to her she isn't, now that i look at the end of the video its usually the wife or longterm girlfriend that hugs and congratulates the winning boxer at the end so shakira (who i think plays a nightclub singer) has only known him briefly

 

they met cause he came to see her sing at the club a few times and has got to know her that way, she fell in love with him but heres the crucial bit he never told her about his "wife" maybe she has asked him if he is married and he said "no" hence the deception

 

more deception elements....he never invites her to the actual boxing matches cause you know who is going to be there so when we see her arrive to the last one it is unexpected, she wants to surprise him but she is shocked to see him with this woman who seems very close to him...his wife :o what is missing is the part when he speaks to her saying "i'm sorry" like in the song that part is left to our imagination

Interesting...interesting.. I think you can interpret it both ways.:

 

1) That Shakira was dumped for the woman in the ring at the end.

 

or

 

2) That Shakira is his mistress, but she doesn't know about his wife untill the end.

 

I'm still undecided as to how much I like this video. Sometimes, I think it's great and other times I think it's just average. I think visually it's quite striking which is good and what this song needs to get attention. It's definately made me like Illegal more now, before it was chosen as a single I thought it was the weakest song on OF2.

The thing I dont understand is wether the woman in the ring is is wife/girl on the side whatever, if he knew shakira would be looking at him why would he kiss the woman when everyone is looking at hime :unsure: :lol:

 

The video is really good imo, definately helps sell Illegal as the song on its own, although good, wouldnt really grab peoples attention with a boring video

Yes i didn't really like illegal before this video... although like ashley said the video has been edited badly in parts... alot of the close ups shake and some just look fuzzy

I've fallen in love with the song :wub:

it works really well, i don't have a problem with the editing or the slight out of focus parts, generally speaking its hard to get excited about making a video for a downtempo song, jaume keeps it simple i also like the use of colour brown and green earthy tones everywhere and he makes shakira the contrast with platinum hair and red dress, he has really concentrated on her presence, the close up of her face is supposed to create intimacy that she is singing close to us telling us about this deception, i have picked up on how much his camera loves her in this video and even though its a sad song he had to get her to smile and laugh in second verse cause he knows she is captivating when she does this :D her acting is pretty good too at the end when she spots the other woman :o :lol: no really she is convincing

She doesn´t look like Shakira anymore, she looks like Christina Aguilera.
