July 11, 20195 yr Author Despite getting back into the final this year after a couple of non-qualifiers, speculation is rife that Malta may not be using the second season of X Factor to select their entrant for 2020. Last year this method was confirmed in June, with the announcement of X Factor, but auditions for season two are underway and they aren't making a big thing of the winner going on to The Netherlands  There are also rumours that Brooke Borg, who entered Malta's former selection three years in a row (2016-2018) and achieved 2nd, 3rd and 5th places, may have been internally selected or may be working on a potential entry to woo the Maltese delegation with! She has been in Bulgaria working with Symphonix, the team behind "If Love Was a Crime", "Beautiful Mess" and "Chameleon".
October 27, 20195 yr Author X Factor has since been confirmed as their act-selection method, and guess which audition is airing tonight..! View this post on Instagram
January 19, 20205 yr Destiny continuing to slay her X Factor performances. Has Will been informed? XLxSTEhUHus MlFngLydRH4 Ready for her to be given some Lizzo style inspirational pop in the event of her coronation!
January 20, 20205 yr Author I see that our Ryan did an article for escxtra earlier in the week asking if Jasmine was destined to win, based on her first live show performance trending on YouTube. And then she was eliminated straight off last night. Good old Malta doing a bit of rigging to ensure that no one stands in Destiny’s way :kink: (I have more expectations for Malta this year than any other country, the “Me Tana” robbery will pale in comparison if THIS doesn’t go to plan)
January 21, 20205 yr I would welcome Malta winning (with the right song) as its a country that hugely supports Eurovision but have yet to win. Destiny could potentially be the first person to win both contests, that is a record Malta would really like to have.
February 11, 20205 yr ITS ABOUT TIME can we not just bend the rules and allow Malta to send Not My Soul again it didn't deserve to languish in the junior contest :(
March 8, 20205 yr So this will likely be the last song of 2020 to drop. Pretty much confirmed that Symphonix are behind the track whose back catalogue includes Every Bulgarian entry since their return, Dance Alone, Nobody But You, Truth, Chameleon from last year and have also written Violent Thing in Germany this year so there's every reason to expect that the material will be top quality. And given they were smart enough to steer away from a ballad when there was too many of them in the contest last year, here's hoping they've played their cards wisely again.
March 9, 20205 yr They're taking their time, it's building up so much hype that I hope it's worth it
March 9, 20205 yr I love it. Not quite as instant as "Chameleon" but it's sure to wiggle its' way into my Top 10 quickly. The instrumental is really good and I'm sure she'll slay this live!
March 9, 20205 yr Yasss Destiny - as much as I don't think anybody really has much of a firm clue about who's going to win, I think this could give Malta one of their best results in years.
March 9, 20205 yr Iconic. This is incredible AS EXPECTED. But seriously, it really the song that we should be sending. Still sort of fitting that Radio 2 friendly brief that the BBC want but actually making a STATEMENT. I just had relisten of ours and it sounds so so limp in comparison.
March 9, 20205 yr At first I was like "all the hype for this" but after like 2 listens it grew SO much!
