Additionally:

34. Headie One

56. Swae Lee feat. Drake

86. Liam Gallagher

181. Blade Brown feat. K Trap

183. Blossoms [not a new release, but new to the top 200]

186. Gorgon City & MK

and a few other Young Thug ATs lower down

Headie One can fart into the Top 50 but Normani with a lot of hype, promotion and a video still can't. The GP really are rotten.
I would have been mega shocked if Normani DID debut top 50. She's done remarkably well already for somebody who has virtually no name power - her only two solo hits are with bigger artists (Khalid and Sam Smith). Motivation's obviously going to be big, it's just going to take time to grow into the hit it'll become because she's less of a known entity.
Wish they added Taylor to HH, she's 1 in America and 4 global!

Because it's not a single, It's doing amazing so far and was really low on NMF and no HH anyway, didn't expect much.

The hype online, from what I have seen is huge! It'll debut Top 50 in the US I reckon so I don't think it's that much of a ask for it to debut there. It's just disappointing to see people who actually put effort in promotion, videos and such like not get anywhere when artists releasing the same monotonous rubbish with v minimal promotion, uninteresting lyrics and videos just sail to success with no problem. It's just my opinion 🤷

Oh the hype is undeniably huge, but perhaps that's just the people we (and probably a large chunk of this site) follow on social media? I know it's unlikely I'll be following any Headie One fans. In addition, he had a notably higher position on New Music Friday (1st, compared to Normani's 12th). In fact, it's actually a miracle she's as high as she is with a position like that, so the hype is definitely translating into streams! I agree that I'd much rather Normani was slaying Spotify right now than Headie One but I think it's quite easy to see why it's not that way round (at the moment, if Normani keeps building on this I have no doubt she'll command better debuts in the future).

I hope so, I suppose the likes of Havana and New Rules didn't start off huge so hopefully it'll go the same way as those!

I seem like such a huge Normani stan and I'm not really 😂

Where’s the Normani hype?

I’ve not seen any outside of this forum.

in real life people will have no idea who she is (UK wise).

But I’ve seen several people share Jorja, Miley and Taylor’s new tracks as well as Headie one too.

It's everywhere on my Twitter and social media from celebs and fans! Again, like Joseph said it may just be my circle though and I sometimes get caught up in that a little too much.

Also worth noting that the last Headie One single only barely scraped the top 100 so this one clearly has something more going for it. It feels almost random which British rap hits are bigger than others (I don't think the last Headie One single sounded particularly non-chart-worthy, if anything it was probably his 'poppiest'/most commercial single to date) but there must be some logic to it amongst its audience

Jorja was doing really well on Apple Music as well so not surprised at its pretty solid debut on Spotify! Hope this is better than her last few singles, the Burna Boy feature sounds promising x

Didn't realise that Lil Tecca was as high as 2 combined!

Hope 3 Nights can grab the no1 before him, much better and deserving track!
