November 10, 200618 yr Can you just clear something for me? Why is Eric Prydz have Data/Positiva as the label? Is Data part of Positiva? I didnt think so. Oh and it might not be #1 if U2 are releasing their lead single that week
November 10, 200618 yr Author No Data are not part of Positiva or vice versa. Data are an imprint of Ministry Of Sound and Positiva, EMI. EMI didnt want to sign all the licensing rights away to Data, so they agreed to co-sign the track. Sometimes this is necessary if either a record company is reluctant to completely license or rights require funds from two labels. Fedde is not only signed to Data but CR2 Records, but as Data are backed by MOS they have more money so that is why Fedde is normally labelled as signed to Data. But if surfaced on CR2 first and they are an independent.
November 13, 200618 yr This has happened a few times. Didn't Raven Maize 'Real Life' appear on Ministry of Sound's Rulin label and Credence back in 2001 (both of which no longer exist).
November 14, 200618 yr Author I think so Scott. I only know of Raven Maize signing to Rulin/MOS but not Credence/Parlophone. This is also not the only time a track has been signed to CR2/Data, it happened with Steve Mac "That Big Track (Loving U More)" and also Data teamed up with Boss to give us Studio B "I See Girls".
