April 19, 201213 yr Lights is #49 on US iTunes, is she doing promo over there at the moment? Its been top 100 for what seems like forever, she did ellen and it rose a fair bit and its hovering between 50 and 45. In other news, Ellie has sold one million downloads of Lights now :D
June 1, 201213 yr http://soundcloud.com/elliegoulding/ellie-...g-high-for-this Cover of the Weeknd 'High for this'. I know its a free download and what not but its already been downloaded 21,000 times in 2 days. Shows there is still a massive interest in her, especially as this is also the most talked about song on twitter.
June 9, 201213 yr I am so in love with her cover of 'High For This' the past couple of weeks.! I really need a new album soon as!
July 10, 201213 yr http://soundcloud.com/elliegoulding/hangin...ft-tinie-tempah oh my god, oh my god. This era is going to be huge.
July 10, 201213 yr Not keen really. Hopefully it'll grow but on first listen I'd say Tinie's part was probably my favourite bit.
July 10, 201213 yr Author It's already grown on me, wonderful stuff. Not sure how that's gonna sound alongside stuff from the likes of Calvin and Skrillex but we'll see. Really glad things seem to finally be happening with album #2.
July 10, 201213 yr LOVE it, but it's a cover of an Active Child () song, so I doubt it'll end up on the album. Still, how is she being so perfect over my 2011 faves these days?
July 10, 201213 yr Tinie completely ruined an otherwise perfect cover. Seriously, what is with this obsession of adding dire rappers to brilliant pop tracks?!
July 10, 201213 yr Tinie completely ruined an otherwise perfect cover. Seriously, what is with this obsession of adding dire rappers to brilliant pop tracks?! Agreed with this. I normally like him but that entire verse was awful. It's a nice song from Ellie's part though, I don't know the original so I have no idea how it compares.
July 10, 201213 yr Was it done just for the sake of covering another indie artist? Is Ellie trying to extend her fanbase? If so, she's not doing herself any favours AT ALL. High For This was decent but this is just HORRIBLE. Can I unlisten it? :(
July 10, 201213 yr That's sounds great to me, very understated and effective. Although I'd guess I'd think differently if I knew the original? I also listened to the one without Tinie, which I suppose is for the best reading these comments

High For This was decent but this is just HORRIBLE. Can I unlisten it? :( This is not a new trend for her. Even before the start of her career, she's always covered indie artists type artists (Passion Pit, Midlake, Jose Gonzalez, Mumford & Sons, The Temper Trap, Bon Iver off the top of my head) so I'm guessing it's just her personal taste in music. I think her voice is beautiful on this, Tinie is a bit unnecessary but I like that they've worked together again. This sounds like the right direction for her.

I don't really care about any of those artists apart from Bon Iver so her covering Active Child AND The Weeknd within 2 months seems strange.
