I wouldn't say it sounds better than Lights from that but it does sound quite good. Not as electronic as Lights so there's definite artistic progression there. 'Anything Could Happen' sounds quite nice from the tiny bit we've got there, I find it hard to imagine it turning into a generic banger (thankfully). It's hard to tell where this will go commercially but I think it could go down rather well with the critics. Excited.

I have a feeling Ellie is going to be pretty massive this era and deservedly so! I think she could even do a mini-Adele and have worldwide success, obviously on a smaller scale of course. Really looking forward to this album though! :cheer:

I agree. Just from the sound of this era and the quality of melodies and lyrics, yet still being completely unique, I think this album could receive universal acclaim. I'm so excited.

Hope she ditches the electronic stuff. Lights was way over-produced. So many of her songs ruined by some shitty beats, still listen the demos of her stuff compared to the album versions if ever I feel like listening to her.

By the sound of the new clips she has released, it's not electronic, at all. Its very raw, almost anthemic. The third one which I'm calling 'I know you care' could get success because its similar to your song.

 

But that last one, oh my god. I know its only 30 seconds but it NEEDS to be a single because it has smash written all over it. Apparently its called explosions

I'm all for progression, but I wouldn't have complained either if she stuck more with the electro sound like with Lights. I'm looking forward to how this new era unfolds, but "This Love (Will Be Your Downfall)" will probably stick as my favorite Ellie song.. pretty underrated, but such ear candy for me.

Well thank god Anything Could Happen (at least from that tiny clip) sounds like 'classic Ellie' but with a progression as well. I don't think I could've handled a Calvin Harris banger *shudders*.

 

The rest of the album sounds really promising, I'm not sure I want her to totally change her sound because I really loved Lights/Bright Lights but I'm so so pumped for this it's unreal!

That last song is just stunning. I really hope it is explosions, I need the full song in my life right now so I can listen to it 70 times this week.

I actually really like 'Hanging On' and do think it's probably strong enough to be a single unlike others, could maybe do with a bit of polishing here and there but it's still pretty damn good. I was never HUGE on here although I do enjoy parts of her debut album but I cannot abide her version of 'Your Song' anymore'.

Looks like a tour will be announced in a few weeks as part of the offer was a presale code.
