The UK aren’t the only country scrapping their current public selection show and with good reason as Spain are also going back to internal!

They will be revealing their ‘well-known artist’ sometime ‘soon’ :o

Greek media suggest Spain wanted Eleni Foureira for Eurovision 2020

A shock went through Greece earlier on, when journalist Giannis Poulopoulos suggested that Eleni Foureira had been asked to represent another country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Not Cyprus, not Greece, no… Spain reportedly asked her!

The item was discussed during the show report on Sti Folia ton Koukou. It airs on Star Channel in Greece and saw Giannis Poulopoulos claim that RTVE had approaced Eleni Foureira for another chance at the Eurovision Song Contest. Was Eleni Foureira indeed that ‘big name’ they wanted for their internal selection for Rotterdam?

In his segment, he suggested that Eleni Foureira was honoured by the question, as she is incredibly grateful to the people of Spain. Her 2018 Eurovision runner-up “Fuego” was rather successful there, as it went platinum. It has helped her career in Spain as well.

However, Poulopoulos immediately added that Eleni has turned down the proposal. This had nothing to do with not wanting to come back to Eurovision, but more with her plans for next year. The Greek star has set her eyes on a move to Los Angeles. In the USA, she wants to try and aim for an international career. She’ll make the move in January and stay there for at least three months.

Poor Cqm

Omfg but at least she’s trying to be an international star x

Trying is the operative word x

I feel like Eleni needs to leave it a few years anyway, I worry that she’d come back and have diminishing returns in terms of the final result (like what Cyprus got this year by repeating the same formula)

Who knows, hopefully she can be the next Dima or Sergey at some point!

OMG Artist confirmations coming at us thick and fast and we're only in October!

Blas Canto, former member of boyband AURYN will be representing Spain in Rotterdam and is, on the whole, not unpleasant to look at.

Said boyband tried to represent Spain in

and Blas also tried his luck for Junior in
so hopefully for someone who's wanted this for a long time we'll have a cracking effort from Spain.

Spain are often underrated as a big 5 country I have to say, 'Amanecer' and 'La Venda' in particular deserved better.

This doesn't sound like the song to reverse Spain's fortunes, unfortunately. It's ok. I suspect that it will be mid-table or towards the lower end of my rankings once all the songs are out.

Yeah that's pretty plain, definitely not terrible but it's going to be one of those that never gets very high in my ranking because there's just not a lot to get excited about, just plods along a bit.
the first verse was really good but then the chorus came on and it was a NOPE moment. i dislike his voice and his accent when singing "universo" is WEIRD AF
I quite enjoyed this when I was listening to it, but I don't remember the tune at all which isn't a great sign for Eurovision.

This is basically my opinion on Spain 2020. Ultimately it sounds like your ultimate "accidentally last" song.

I really think that this could possibly do a 'Sound Of Silence' live in terms of impact if he goes for it with his vocals.
there's not enough moments to even compare the two songs really. he can nail that one note in the last chorus and that's pretty much it whereas Dami slayed like 3 of those huge ass notes throughout the entire song.

No one can touch Dami Im and her diaphragmatic breathing.
