If this little party gives the country bumpkins and not rights the illusion that somehow distancing ourselves from all of our nearest geographical neighbours is somehow going to make life better than let them have their one night of fun, because on February 1st nothing will be any different and they'll still be complaining and moaning about

the exact same things they were before.

That's it. Nothing will have changed so nothing bad will have happened. Good times then.

Except economic damage and our european rights being stripped away due to tribal politics and xenophobia.

How do you know? Do you have a crystal ball? Nobody can say there'll be economic damage.

There already has been and all economic experts, domestic and international, have sounded the alarm, and also no country in history has successfully ignored all its neighbours without first achieving autarchy, soooooooo......
 the final sentence makes me laugh and I don't know why just imagine Chris sitting there watching and celebrating!

It's like he literally exists in his own impenetrable bubble of ignorance, it's astonishing.

The world won't suddenly be a magical place is what I am saying, and as for saying "how do you know there will be any economic damage?" ..that's pretty much like saying "how do you know the bath will overflow if I leave it running."

Chris...if we do not have trade deals in place to compensate for the low tariffs and seamless trade we currently have after the transition period, then there will be economic disruption of some sort, c'mon even you aren't that naive.

The BBC would be highly unlikely to show the event in full live on BBC 1 as it would probably breach impartiality. They may mention and show a bit of it on the news channel though.

But similarly they can't snub it completely, as that would *also* be a breach of impartiality.

And that will happen instantly on Feb 1st?

FFS, we are NOT ignoring our neighbours - you've been told that so many times - we are just changing our relationship with them!

Patience my friend, patience. Of course we need the trade deals but some people think an economic turn down will start straight after 31st and other setbacks too. I wager that they won't.

We'll still be friends with Europe too. Boris has repeatedly said so.

Yes with my union jack hat on and waving my union jack flag and sipping French champagne. :D 11pm we'll be out, not midnight as some people think.

The only reason for that is because of the transition period, which basically means you haven't actually left the EU yet and your government needed time to get their shit together because they couldn't for the past 3 of 4 yeara

The question of when we actually leave was discussed on BBC news the other night and they said "legally 11pm on 31st." Just a few loose ends to tie up, few trade deals.

But it sets out their views on Brexit so have a right to show that even if it has zero chance.

We all know their views on Brexit and their view on another independence referendum. We've heard it until we're sick to the back teeth of hearing it.

If a trade deal with the EU is a mere loose end, perhaps you’d like to offer to take care of it yourself.

So you don’t think opposition parties should be allowed to propose amendments?

A few loose ends? Yeah just a quick lil' trade deal

These take extensive negotiations. I mean it took y'all 3 years to have a peaving agreement, how do you think you're gonna get a trade agreement within a year? Especially with Bo at the table

So you don’t think opposition parties should be allowed to propose amendments?

Yes of course but they know Scotland's leaving with us so it's just a pointless amendment.

The english are quite literally kidnapping them out of the EU

It wasn't a joke. The English are determining the faith of another nation by silencing them. The stereotypical english arrogance is showing

Good luck keeping the Not So United Kingdom together
