Don't mind me spewing some ramblings :kink:

Belgium 2008 - the most exciting last 3 laps to a race I've ever watched. Now I'm not one to get "on the edge of my seat" but this was an exception. Also of course one of the most scandalous decisions of all time with Hamilton's penalty. A lot of newer fans who think the odd 5 second penalty applied these days, that's nothing compared to the harshness of the noughties!

Australia 1994 - obviously not one I watched live but I've seen the "incident" many many times. Certainly not as clear cut as his '97 manoeuvre but I think we can collectively agree it was cynical. I would love to see a modern race at Adelaide, played it a lot on the old ps1 games.

San Marino 2005 - good old ITV eh! I fondly remember when they cut to an ad-break, my stepdad had left the room at the time & couldn't believe when I told him they put the ads on. This was the only race of 2005 that Ferrari were competitive iirc? And then at the very same race the next year the roles were reversed!

Brazil 2007 - an underrated title decider this one. I can still never fully get my head around why Lewis' gearbox suddenly packed in then kicked back into life seemingly out of nowhere. Has that ever happened to anyone else before? The big conspiracy was that the FIA instructed Mclaren to lose the Driver's title on the back of the SpyGate scandal or they'd be excluded from the championship the next year but I don't believe an entire team plus someone like Lewis in their maiden season would all agree to that and keep it under wraps even still to this day. Lewis has said that when he retires he will write about the 2007 in a book so maybe that will shed more light on the matter.

Azerbaijan 2017 - the beginning of the end of Sebastian Vettel. He turned full-on Schumi in this race! The year before race was dull but 2017 and then 2018 were both absolute screamers that have nailed Baku near the top of my fave tracks on the current calendar. Also, this will likely remain Stroll's only podium in F1...

Australia 1986 - a classic finale. I've seen the highlights many times, can only imagine the collective disappointment of the British folk waking up at silly o'clock to see their hero blow out in such dramatic fashion. To think a driver of his standard had to wait another 6 years with one of the most dominant cars of all time to clock up his only title!

Europe 1993 - Senna. Lap 1. Is there literally anything else memorable in this race? What's often overlooked is Barrichello driving arguably an even better lap going from 12th to 3rd in a JORDAN!!!

Japan 2005 - one of the classics of the v12 era. The title had been wrapped up the race before so this was a complete balls-out, go hard or go home thriller. The jumbled grid, "that" 130R overtake, the last lap. I remember being with my parents at a DIY store when the re-run was on ITV, I've seldom been so desperate to get back home!

Monaco 1996 - one of the craziest ever races. Only 3 drivers crossed the line? We need another race like that at Monaco just to remind people how entertaining it can be, I hear a lot of stick for Monaco these days and some ppl I know would have it dropped from the calendar before any other track (apart from Paul Ricard). - I say NO WAY!

France 1979 - well pardon my potential ignorance here but this really is just all about that battle for second isn't it? A good quiz question would be who actually won this race, no? Anyway, that battle always forms part of the classic clips of the Sport and I suppose the closest we've had in a modern iteration was Verstappen vs Leclerc at Austria/Silverstone last year.

Austria 2019 - talk of the devil! All about that climax (and not about the ludicrous delay thereafter to announce the result). Austria becoming quite the event to play to final few lap dramas (see also 2016) so here's hoping we do eventually get going with a bang this July.

Will review the top 10 later... (though YAY at that winner :cheer:)
